"Conveniently located, so I could walk to museums, Old Montreal, McGill, events. Subway nearby. Welcoming and efficient front desk. Superb Cora restaurant right in the hotel. 24-hour fitness centre. Reasonable and accessible parking. Comfortable bed and linens, and nice quality bath products. The carpet-free rooms remind me of many southern European hotels, and must be better for both allergies and cleanliness.
One issue: Not a big deal personally as I am able-bodied and have a mobile, but on arrival I reported my in-room phone was not working. It was checked by maintenance immediately, but 36-hours later when I left, it had not been fixed and no one had followed up with me.
Second issue: construction site across from back of property began work quite noisily at 6 am. If the city does not have noise regulations precluding such an early start, then it would be wise to tell guests in advance and offer earplugs.
Both things said, I would still recommend the property for its many upsides."
""We absolutely loved our time in Montreal! The city is so beautiful and peaceful, the food is excellent, and the hotel service was outstanding. But what surprised us most was the genuine kindness and warmth of the people. It truly made our trip unforgettable."

"Le St-Martin is a great and well-located hotel in downtown Montreal. Very clean and very courteous staff.
If arriving by car, be advised that parking at the hotel is valet only and you must park temporarily on the street next to the hotel (Rue Metcalfe)."
"Room was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Convenient location for walking and exploring the area. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment. We had trouble accessing the hotel due to police closing streets around the hotel; for a peaceful gathering in the square in support of Palestine/Gaza.
I called the hotel for help in finding parking, but as I explained the situation the young lady finally said she couldn't help me and hung up. I found street parking nearby, walked to the hotel, went to the front desk and spoke with the young lady from the phone call. Again, she didn't offer any help. Then, Soso another staff member, heard what was going on. This young lady went outside, walked to the end of the block, spoke with the police officer who was blocking the street and got him to allow cars access to the hotel! I was very impressed with her willingness to take action in assisting guests.
Our 4th floor room faced the front of the hotel. Outside, there was a club with loud music and a construction site. After checking into our room, we went downstairs and inquired about how late the club would be operating. Soso explained they weren't normally open on Sunday, but would check with them about the noise. Then, she took the time to walk outside and point is in the right direction to get to a restaurant we wanted to find. Construction, garbage trucks, and other street noise started promptly at 7am each day...downtown city life!

"It was pretty pricey for the area. The bathroom had some weird dark yellow stains on the walls—right around toilet height, which was kinda gross. The bed felt super flat and saggy, like I was getting sucked into it.
That said, the location’s not bad at all. It’s right near the Arts Center—just a short walk and you’re there. So if you’re looking to explore what Montreal has to offer, it’s definitely convenient."
