"We had an excellent stay here. The facilities are great. Only issues are relatively small room relative to the bed in one of the three rooms and a road on the doorstep that has fast vehicles."

"A well laid out property with comfortable beds and an excellent lounge area. Being on the Settle to Carlisle line didn’t impact on the experience and the building being the old station made for a fantastic experience. Provision is made to immediately enjoy a well furnished accommodation, with more than adequate parking beside the property. Well fitted out for a pet friendly experience and a short distance into the village. In a great location with so much to do and see in the area. I did the Roman forts along Hadrians wall, long Meg, shopping in Penrith less than 10 minutes away and Lowther castle all accessible within 45 minutes. Definitely would recommend this property and would go back Response time from the Owner was brilliant and any minor issues were addressed immediately. Personally I Loved the experience and would do it again"

"Cute little cottage - in a friendly village. Can recommend the Sunday lunch at Heather Glen Hotel. Nice pubs in neighbouring village of Armathwaite, plus a very accommodating shopkeeper, who went out of his way to source a lovely pork pie. Very helpful host who provided lots of useful information before our visit. The cottage was cosy, well equipped ( apart from requiring an outdoor broom - to sweep up dropping wisteria flowers, so didn’t keep walking them into house - had to get hoover out daily! )Comfy beds and good shower over bath ( needs a grab rail on wall for us oldies though).Nice private little patio garden to sit out in - getting sun for most of the day. We enjoyed some lovely walks with Donald our whippet - along the river and into Coomb woods in Armathwaite - made this our early morning dog walk as only took a few minutes to drive there - and could pick up supplies from the shop at the same time. High Stand Plantation very close by in the car too - ideal in hot weather. Very enjoyable stay - our first visit and hope to return."

"Beautiful location, close enough to the lakes without being in the heart of the tourist trap. Perfect getaway for two, cosy with lovely views, wonderful birdsong and yet has all amenities within. Great value for money, so much so we’ve now been twice and will definitely return. Pam the owner is lovely, very welcoming, yet also leaves you in peace for the duration of your time there."

"Excellent little cottage to base our Lake District holiday from. Very friendly owners, cottage has everything you need in it for 2 people. Lots of local walks. Sunday dinner in the Heather Glen hotel, which is walking distance, was very good. Local pub, the Fox & Pheasant, is 1.2 miles away in Armathwaite, nice food and friendly staff, however I do not recommend walking there on the road, which has no footpath, as the local tractors move very fast and consider the entire road their domain! Easy access to the Settle-Carlisle railway via Armathwaite station. There is free parking in the station and many places in the village to park if it happened to be full."

"The property is wonderful and the garden and hot tub are great. Far more freedom than a hotel room or holiday inn .the local pub serves amazing food with a friendly atmosphere. Really pleased we booked it. "

"Nicely appointed cottage that had everything you could need.Plenty of internal space, outside rooftop patio and hidden garden area.No wifi signal, and poor mobile phone signal added to the seclusion - away from the real world. Very rural, transport necessary to get anywhere."
