Me and my family stayed for one night and we had our dinner at the hotel, foods were really amazing, not to mention that their staff were all sweet and friendly. Their breakfast options were so outstanding that you will never regret staying with them, I promise!

On the plus side side it was close to our wedding venue and the staff were excellent.The road was very busy all night on saturday,and from Monday morning very busy from 5.30.

Had a lovely 2 night stay,the staff were very helpful,we were visiting our son and his family,and had to bring one of our grandchildren for one night, very understanding and happy for her to have breakfast with no charge

Accommodation was full of character and very clean. Nice touches like a bottle of water and fresh milk in a flask raised it above the norm. Food was delicious and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Well worth the money. Lisa was excellent as were the other staff. Rooms were immaculate, tidy and well presented. Food was excellent and not loads of choices which was good from a waste food perspective. Breakfast was also excellent. Will stay again when down in the area. Thank you.

Best place stayed in to date.
This place was a great find, reasonably priced and very welcoming, the room was brilliant and very comfortable and clean. The food was spot on and nothing was too much trouble.The room came with breakfast which was freshly cooked to order,this along side the continental really set us up for the day. Best poached eggs ever!

Overall, we loved our stay here. It is a charming Inn with great service and a wonderful restaurant. The wood fired pizzas are phenomenal as well as the breakfast! Great ambiance with wonderfully kind and helpful staff. The rooms have been nicely updated and it is exceptionally clean. The only thing we would caution others about is noise. The rooms are directly above the restaurant/pub and it is open until 11 pm. Since it's an old building the sound travels. You will hear every bit of sound and movement including others moving in and out of their rooms. There is also a very busy road that you will hear from the rooms (our room was the farthest from the road and we still heard it). We are light sleepers so that was a bit challenging for us. We slept with earplugs. We tried to take a nap during the day and there is a school directly next door where the children play and have gym class outside, so that wasn't an option either.

At intervals of a few minutes throughout the evening, what sounded like a heavy wooden door directly beneath my bedroom was repeatedly slammed shut, causing my floor to vibrate. This prevented me from falling off into a deep sleep.

Stayed here for one night after a long flight in from California. It was exactly what we needed to unwind for an evening. The room was beautiful, the pub and restaurant both excellent. The manager of the property (I forget his name) was very personable and fun to chat with. We will definitely stay again at the Dog and Gun in the near future.

This was the perfect location for a stop over between London and Devon. The staff were fantastic - really friendly and helpful. The food in the bar was delicious and our room was beautiful. Staying here was a great experience and we will be going back!

What a lovely establishment. Very friendly staff, stylish and a high end room. Very comfortable stay, we will return. Our only comment was with respect to the cooked breakfast. Maybe introduce better quality sausages! Our evening meal was perfect. Thank you for making our stay so lovely

Wonderful stay
Wonderful stay to attend family wedding. All staff very helpful and friendly. Public areas comfortable and well kempt. Room very comfortable and nicely furnished. Bathroom immaculate and benefiting from roll top bath as well as a shower. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Would definitely recommend

Value for Money...
First of all, i think that value for money, was not great, because for £100, i was expenting a lot more. Unfortunately, room n 1 was just on top of the staircase and until midnight i could hear all the guest from below having fun after a few pints. I could not even whatch tv as the signal was interrupted every few second, and to top it all off, the materasses of both the bed in my twin room, were so soft that looked lile being in an camping ammock. In fact i used the 2 duvets and slept on them on the floor. Good points: very clean, despite a few little spiders coming from outside, and the best thing was the breakfast, which saved the day. to conclude, I think it was more like a £50/60 pound B&B rather than a £100 pound 3/4 star hotel.

This venue is lovely. Would really recommend anyone to stay here. One of the best we've been too. (I would say one thing...the food was rather bland, we all had the pizza and all agreed it lacked flavour)

Couldn't check in and stay as Expedia listed hotel as dog friendly. We had to drive 2 1/2 hours to get home instead on a saturday night. Not hotels fault but Expedia listings are not accurate....no help when trying to resolve either. Expedia app now deleted as would not trust them again. Hotel seemed nice and staff friendly and apologetic but it is not dog friendly.
