Villa ' Pian del Rocchio ' - Beautiful Country House in a lush Umbria plateau

"We were two families spending our summer holiday in Umbria, staying two weeks at Villa Pian del Rocchio. With nine people, including grown‑up children, the villa felt wonderfully spacious. Each set of parents had their own bedroom, and the children were split into girls and boys rooms. Four bathrooms sit conveniently next to the bedrooms. The villa also has a lovely living room, where we watched the World Cup final, and a billiard room that became a favourite spot for late‑evening games.The pool is just steps from the house and reaches 2.3 metres at its deepest, perfect for diving. Plenty of deck chairs meant everyone could relax comfortably. Our favourite place was the outdoor dining area under the mulberry pergola, where we enjoyed breakfast every morning and often barbecued in the evenings. The garden is beautiful and very well maintained.The villa is perfectly located in the countryside, offering stunning views and complete tranquillity, with no noise from neighbours or traffic. The host, Gaetano, lives next door and is incredibly helpful, funny, and charming! He gives excellent recommendations for medieval towns and restaurants and is always happy to assist with bookings. Having him nearby is a real advantage!We have taken similar holidays before, and we all agree this villa is the best place we have ever stayed. We cannot recommend it highly enough."

"We spent two incredible weeks in a beautiful villa in the mountains of Umbria. Everywhere you looked there was beauty! We invited family and friends to join us and share pool time and delicious meals outside under a pergola. The location was perfect, we visited Perugia, Spoleto, Deruta, Orivieto, Spello, Tori and Assisi. If you are looking for luxury and a great location to visit some of the loveliest cities and towns in Umbria check out this villa. The pool was heated and nestled in the Umbrian countryside. You absolutely need a car to visit local attractions and go food shopping. Thanks Martin, our host for a lovely time and all the solid recommendations!"
