Top Saxmundham Museum Hotel Reviews
The White Horse Hotel
8/10 Good
"Excellent room and brilliant staff"
Tranquil Cottage adjoining rural farmhouse 5 miles from Suffolk Coast
10/10 Excellent
"This is lovely cottage where the hosts have thought if everything to make your stay comfortable, from tea, coffee, and cookies, to board games and picnic blankets. The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. There is plenty of seating for everyone in the living room, kitchen, and the garden. The garden is great for active children—and adults—and great for squirrel and partridge spotting. There is a lovely little coffee shop/farm market less than a mile away, supermarkets within a 10 minute drive and beaches only 15-20 minutes away. There is a huge variety of things to do in the area—walking trails, boat trips, historical sites—literally something from everyone. We would definitely recommend this cottage!"
The Westleton Crown
8/10 Good
"We enjoyed a one-night stay with our dogs, who were made to feel welcome straight away. Water bowls for furry friends are placed all over the premises. The weather was warm & because our room was first floor, it was a warm bedroom so we were grateful for the fan provided. Although the window of our room overlooked the main road, we slept with the window open & this was fine, as it’s such a quiet area. Check-in was efficient; the receptionist was very polite & helpful. We had some lovely teas, coffee & biscuits in the room. Unfortunately, the sink & bath taps were both problematic. The cold tap in the sink ran hot, unless you left it running for ages, after which it eventually ran cold. The hot tap in the sink was scalding hot. I’m 5’7” & was unable to stand under the shower head over the bath, I had to stoop to fit under it. The bath taps were also very sensitive, in that a minor turn in one direction turned the hot water from tepid to scalding. So there’s a clear problem with plumbing, which we reported. There was a wide choice for breakfast, but the restaurant was very busy with few waiting staff who were run off their feet. So when I asked for a flat white, I was told they could only serve this after breakfast finished at 10am; they were too busy before then. The only coffee served at breakfast was filter. We both chose avocado & poached eggs on sourdough. The toast had no butter, which meant that the bread was disappointingly tough. Overall, a lovely place to stay"

"Lovely little cottage great for us and our golden retriever Rosie. Garden is enclosed for dogs. Cottage nice and clean & comfortable. Pub opposite is really nice, lovely food, would advise booking to avoid disappointment. Overall a lovely week exploring Suffolk and we would definitely return to this cottage and would recommend it too."
A quirky character cottage in a Nature Reserve - Cissys Cottage
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely character cottage very cosy. Wonderful welcome pack from host. We have an electric car and there was a farm shop and cafe just up the road with lots of fast charging points. Situation was ideal as not far to Aldeburgh Southwold and Thorpeness."
