Impeccable little gem
An immaculately presented property set in idyllic grounds within the rural North Yorkshire countryside. It offers easy access to York and Leeds via road or train. The staff were very accommodating and the food and hospitality was outstanding. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet secluded place with the flare of elegance and delicious food.

A pleasant surprise
I travel a lot for work, and always value a good hotel with great food and a good nights sleep. This hotel was a pleasant surprise on all fronts. Beautiful building and location, staff were really lovely, and the food in the hotel restaurant was delightful. The room was comfortable, the bed in particular was super - I felt. I don’t normally sleep well in hotels, but slept really well here. For this, I’m thankful! Thanks to everyone for a great stay.

Initially it looks very nice but as soon as you spend a bit of time looking and staying at the hotel it’s poor…room was very tired and sheets looked dirty. Restaurant food was well below average with a cold atmosphere… We wouldn’t go back.

Weekend night in Selby
Lovely find, quiet, staff were fabulous.. Breakfast fresh and hot and varied. Downstairs recentyl refurbished so very clean and modern Rooms all fine , a little dated but but no issues at all and very spacious

We used Loftsome as a based to visit York, which is about a 30 minute drive to the park and drive, making it easy to get in and out of York at a reasonable price, The hotel was excellent, All the staff were extremely friendly, and the food was to an excellent standard, I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The standard of the cuisine was top notch. A seniors menu is a brilliant idea not because it is cheaper but because of the manageable protions.

Excellent, friendly stay.
Weekend trip to the area to visit friends. Travelled from Dorset. Friendly welcome welcome on arrival, around 15:00, and offered a late lunch in the lounge which was excellent. Comfortable quiet room, great surrounding and an excellent breakfast. Would recommend.

A beautiful property and setting . Staff very friendly and helpful . The hotel is situated a little further out so driving is a must as taxis charge a fee to come out on top of fare. House martins nests dear the arches, the resident cat is very friendly and the gardener keeps the grounds immaculate. Excellent choice of breakfast included , fresh fruit, juice, pastries and a cooked breakfast. There is a small supplement for other types of breakfast , I.e smoked salmon . Which is more than fair. We had a lovely stay visiting family locally . The restaurant looked great and does gets busy but we didn’t eat there due to other arrangements. Would highly recommend and stay again .

Nice hotel in a lovely location, but the staff are what really makes it such a lovely place. Stayed for our anniversary and while the place was quiet, the food (dinner and breakfast ) was excellent, as were the people working there- very friendly and helpful and chatty enough without being overbearing.
