I then found the Rocky Face for a much more reasonable rate. The house was perfect as long as you don't mind the last 1/2 mile. Clean, we'll maintained, and stocked with everything you need to just bring your suitcases."

"This place is so close to being great! First of all the good. The location is fantastic. It is right on the river and surrounded by a couple of streams as well. Made for a great place to stroll or to sit and read a book in the afternoon. There is also lots of great hiking within 30 minutes. Sliding Rock is about 35 minutes from this house. Kitchen is well stocked, TVs and internet were great, and beds were comfortable. Firepit with lots of firewood on the property. Close to Waynesville, which had lots of good places to eat. House is quite spacious as well. Three bedrooms on upper floor and basically two large living areas. The bad - as the other reviewers said, the water smells like metal. REALLY smells like metal. The house provided plenty of bottled drinking water, but it was bad enough that nobody wanted to take a shower by the end of our three night stay there. I did not read the reviews enough to catch this detail before we left. Lots of cobwebs and dust - but chalked this up to it being so deep in the woods. Washer was out of order when we were there also, which was quite annoying as we had planned to have that ability when we packed for the trip. Overall a great place with tons of potential if you can get over the smell of metal in the water."

"OMG is what we need to say. The location was great, and quiet and cozy. Pet friendly was a plus for us as well. 2 small pups and they enjoyed their stay as well. Room was very nice and plenty of room, with a kitchen that has everything you need to enjoy a stay. About 15 minutes from Waynesville, and or Canton if needed. The view was spectacular. Best was sitting the hot tub at night and listing to the sounds of nature around us and star gazing while relaxing. Both Hosts, were excellent to speak with and deal with and helped in every way they could with anything we asked. Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful. Look forward to a return visit to the area in the future."
