Enjoy the mountain views and explore Ice Lakes Trail, a lovely green space in Silverton. Amble around this quaint area's riverfront or seek out the ski slopes.
This former mining town dazzles with Victorian architecture and the scenic Durango railway winding through mountain passes. Hike to Ice Lake's turquoise waters in summer or carve fresh powder at Silverton Mountain when locals call it 'Colorado's steepest skiing.'
Silverton in itself is a wonderful place for families, outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen. The surrounding countryside is absolutely stunning with its history and educational heritage. Especially if you have a passion for narrow gauge trains.

Perhaps the best mining town to visit in Colorado. Multiple dining options. Close to some great hiking and exploring. Great shops and galleries:

The train comes up to Silverton every day from Durango. So, town gets really busy between 12:30 and 2:30. After 2:30 it was really quiet and the restaurants slow down. That's the perfect time to walk around town!

A nice little town, plenty of shopping for the tourists. Train runs from Durango to silverton each day. A very interesting hotel experience My husband and i both loved it!
"Matt was a great host, nice back-in-time environment. Good breakfast and company. Matt also gives a jeep tour, it should be considered, unfortunately I only spent one day there but was a definarely a nice memory making experience.
They are dog friendly if your looking for that and their Dog Mocha that was welcoming and friendly.
Would do it again. "
"The location was convenient. The room was nicely updated. The room that was given to us was close to housekeeping and was loud. Overall a nice place to stay. "
"I didn’t want to leave The Peaks. It was great from beginning to end. The pools and hot tub were key. The views are unbeatable. And it was set apart enough to be conveniently located to everything without being right in the activity."
"This stay was amazing. All the details in decoration were perfect. Bed was super comfortable and the location right next to town. Also the owner answered all my questions in a very prompt way. Definitely would be staying here when I come again.
Truly recommend this place"
