Cosy and welcoming, this spacious log cabin has lovely rural views, a huge garden and all the mod cons, from a dishwasher to Sky TV. Perfect for couples and small families, it’s in a great location for exploring Somerset’s popular attractions, walking in the countryside or just sitting on the veranda and enjoying a tranquil break.

Climb the three steps up to this charming lodge and enter its timber-clad interior, an embracing retreat from the everyday world. The L-shaped, open-plan space flows from one area to the other, with a comfortable lounge that includes Sky TV and a selection of books. The dining table is set by the window to make the most of the views – and also to keep an eye on the birds feeding right outside. Around the corner, the kitchen offers all the amenities the cook will need, whether you’re putting together a quick snack or an elaborate meal. The two bedrooms, a double and a single, continue the theme of rustic simplicity, and the double has the benefit of its own TV. They share a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower, ideal for both relaxing soaks and refreshing rinses. As for outside space, the large lawn is safely enclosed, so children and dogs can play as you watch from the bench seat on the veranda.

This fabulous holiday destination is located 2 miles from the charming town of Somerton, where you’ll find a lovely choice of shops, galleries, cafes, restaurants and pubs. There are scenic walks all around, and plenty of places to visit, including the National Trust’s Lytes Cary Manor, 6 miles, Clarks Village shopping outlet, 8 miles, Glastonbury Tor, 10 miles and Wookey Hole, 17 miles.

Beautiful peaceful location

A slice of paradise can be found here. The property has all the convenience of being in your own home with the added benefit of gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. The hosts are lovely and helped make our stay enjoyable. Hope to return again.
