Sorrento Gem.
The location and views are amazing. We had me of the best meals of our trip. The aircon was not yet functional, but the front desk did offer a fan. We just left the terrace door open.

Stayed at this hotel on previous occasions. It is a beautiful hotel with lovely pool and lido areas. The accommodation and staff are excellent as always. The only negative comment is that half board option is no longer available. Although we did use the hotel restaurants we found the menu to be too limited which was disappointing in comparison to the previous half board menu which was fantastic! Also, the restaurants had to be booked in advance and were not always available.

Fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. Very welcoming staff, in particular the lifeguard / waiter down at the beach area who really are so friendly and kind. Beautiful setting. Wil definitely recommend and come back.

Great view, everything else lacking
So the positives - the room had a great view + the staff at the private beach (another positive is the private beach) were fantastic. Breakfast was good also and the omelette station was excellent. However, the negatives. When checking out it took 15 minutes longer than needed as it seemed staff were more interested in having breakfast than us making our ferry. The bed....well, you might as well sleep on the stone floor. Ants outside (can't do much about that really) but a few got in and overall cleanliness was just lacking. The shower was in a corner bath which, although nice (if you minus the mould), needed a step ladder to get into and 5'10". Finally, you can hear every door slamming in the whole building and, if you want to pay for the Deluxe Sea Room, know that the breakfast bar is above and you WILL hear each time a chair is moved in the morning. So don't expect sleep. The whole place needs a revamp. But the view is nice and it is convenient to get into town.

The grand hotel riveria was a grand stop on our vacation. The view from our room was. Beautiful. The facilities were kept as if they were brand new. Great choices at breakfast as you look at the sea. Staff was very professional and went above and beyond. Front desk even took the lead in asking my travel plans a day before i left to make sure it was covered. The only thing i would suggest is that they include a shower mat. The tub is narrow and curved edges causing it to be very slippery.

It is a really really long walk to the town. 15 minutes fast walking, by the time you get there you want to go back and rest.

Great location better next time with taxi.
First, getting to location by rent a car was horrible. Second, my room was on the 5th floor too loud from customers passing hallway after drinks on Terrace for the two nights i stayed. But I must say front desk very accomodating.

Its a lovely hotel with great staff. Its very clean, housekeeping check if you are happy with the cleanliness. the staff are courteous and helpful. I would happily stay again.

Beautiful view from balcony. Room clean. Serene docks and lounge chairs. Outdoor restaurant with magnificent view of bay. Food was good, not exceptional. Live music was clever, lively & engaging. Staff very attentive. Noise from floor above and hall very irritating. Was right next to storage area on second floor used for cleaning and laundry supplies. Would book again and ask for top floor, not next to service closet.

I have booked sea view deluxe room but only be arranged cheaper room type (partly sea view). Reception told me hotel was fully booked and couldn’t do anything. This is really not right since I had paid for the full sea view price!!!

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We need to clarify you that we assigned you a Deluxe room with front sea view which is the same room type you booked. Then in the hotel there are 103 rooms and each room is different each other; Usually when we receive a request to change room we do our best to satisfy it , anyway we could not change your room just because the hotel is full booked. We are not used to assign downgrade rooms to our customers and this is not acceptable in our philosohy of bussiness. Some Deluxe rooms have bigger sizes with balcony and front sea view and some other Deluxe rooms are smaller with bigger balconies and wide sea view! Some guests prefer to keep a brand new room as yours with more space inside the room and some other guests love just the wider view; Anyway we always do our best to find an alternative in the hotel when there is a specific request or need. We really hope there will be another occasion to welcome you as our appreciated guests at Riviera Hotel. Best regards,

The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, overseeing the Gulf of Naples, with Mount Vesuvius in the backdrop. It has a private sundeck/beach and the general decor is beautiful. The staff are also all friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included, and it’s delicious! Unfortunately, we were possibly given the noisiest room in the hotel - right next to the service lift. Despite there being other rooms available (available on hotel.com), we weren’t given other choices to change/upgrade. This spoilt our anniversary somewhat

The facility itself and the attention to its upkeep alive up to the “Grand” in the property’s name. Looking forward to a repeating the visit. All of the front desk and beach staff were superlative. There are gems in the dining room (including three Luigi’s), but there is inconsistency across servers. The bar staff were generally aloof and inattentive, but nothing that will give me a second thought about returning - I will simply go up to the them to order a drink rather than waiting to be served.

Superb 4 star hotel. Upgrade to superior room if you can afford it. Views here are to die for. Breakfast is amazing, the egg man can prepare eggs any way you like all overlooking the sea. The pool and beach area are very pleasant. Staff speak English and are super friendly. Believe me you will not disappointed if you book here.

Lovely Hotel in Sorrento
We had a great time at the Grand Hotel Rivera. Our room was a partial sea view and our balcony overlooked the pool and the sea which was stunning. The breakfast offers many options from sweets, to meats, to fruit, etc and includes champagne. They make a great cappuccino so ask for that. We did the half board so dinner was also included. We only utilized it twice in our stay, but came in handy when my husband wasn't feeling well enough to go down to dinner. When I mentioned this to the staff they prepared him a meal and sent it to our room. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk to city center and the train station, but is out of the way from the hoards of people, and the walk takes you by a beautiful picture spot. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if we return to Sorrento.
