"Our room was very comfortable, spacious and decorated beautifully. The hotel is in a peaceful location surrounded by nature and was very quiet. All of the staff we interacted with were polite and friendly. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the pub for dinner. The only disappointment with our stay was the confusion over breakfast. In the room they advise a breakfast to go pack is available if you need to check out prior to 8am. As we needed to do that we asked the dinner staff how we organise that....

"Great location and accommodation was lovely. Not a cheap stay but if you have kids there is lots to keep them amused. Some of the kids zones are a bit tired and need a refresh. We were there at Easter and they were short staffed in the restaurant. Food was good but needed more options given the prices being charged. Breakfast was great. Staff were excellent but stressed due to shortages."

"I defy anyone to find friendlier staff than those at The Elmer - nothing is too much trouble and you are made to feel welcome from the minute you step through the door. "Pleasant stay, one of the nicer hotels in Folkestone. Rooms seemed to be (recently?) renovated, bathroom's spacious, bedroom was a little on the smaller size and the bed itself felt like a small double. One of the cons of our stay was how unbearably hot it was in our bedroom. The thermostat on the radiator wouldn't turn off and there was no way to switch if off in the bathroom. We had to sleep the whole night with the windows and curtains wide open."

"We had a lovely stay. The staff could not have done enough for you. The place is kinda old fashioned but i think that part of its charm. The food served in the restaurant in the evening and for breakfast was very high quality and delicious. The staff were wonderful. Apparently the (waiting) staff dont really get many tips, so you may want to tip separately rather at the end of the stay to ensure they get it. It wasnt clear. One little negative, the room was way too hot and took hours to cool...
