Port Gaverne Hotel

"Interesting historic pub hotel situated close to the sea. Small room but comfortable bed and clean, en suite with shower over bath, partial sea view, kettle and Nespresso machine. Steep and narrow stairs to room. Excellent breakfast and reasonable evening dining (Pie and Drink £15 Monday!) Good beer. Pub gets very busy so book. Noisy until around 23.00 when the bar closes. Quiet during the night. Sash window only ventilation so room was quite hot during our stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very limited parking (8 places). Port Gaverne is a tiny fishing cove dissected by the Delabole - Port Isaac road (not a lot of traffic) with almost no parking. The hotel is on the SW Coastal path and about 30 metres from the sea across the road. Good for swimming, fishing and walking. Steep hill leads to Port Isaac (10 minutes). It's an old property with bags of character but difficult access and noisy in the evening."

"Perfect location right on the harbour. Don't be deterred driving down to drop off luggage as you can exit the other end back up to main road. Good breakfast and atmosphere for drinks."

"Good directions to find the house but certainly a little challenging with luggage. Well equipped although a microwave would be useful. Comfortable beds. Very quiet. Great location to explore Port Isaac."

"Staying at the Old Cobbler’s Cottage was fantastic! Great location in Port Isaac that was close to the harbor and many wonderful restaurants. The cottage was restful and just perfect for us. We hope to return again."

"A perfect location in Port Isaac which is a beautiful and very quaint fishing village. Driving through Port Isaac and parking is challenging but there are three public lots that you can use. You’ll do lots of walking and get your steps in and it’s well worth it. Sitting outside the cottage led to many lovely conversations with Doc Martin fans who were there to see and take pictures. Highly recommend."

"Fantastic location right by the quay side. Plenty of food choices and gorgeous walks all around. Port Isaac is still as beautiful as it always has been and although very popular, is definitely a Cornish gem. Property was ideal and had everything you would need, beautiful inside and a lovely welcoming feel, especially when coming home after a day out. Couldn’t fault it and so glad we found it. Will definitely return. Just remember the calf muscles definitely get a work out walking up the hills in Port Isaac but the views are to die for."

"Lovely annex had all that we needed. Had a couple of issues when we arrived but housekeeping sorted it immediately. We didn’t have tv as stated but it was explained previous bad weather had damaged the aerial. It didn’t cause us a problem. We had a problem with opening our double patio doors but this was rectified on day 2 and a locksmith came and fixed it. Fantastic location great to have our own parking space at the property as they weren’t easy to come by."
