Enjoyable stay

I had a great stay at Southwell Stays. Very kind owner who communicated well. Very safe and central location in Southwell. Immaculately clean room and bathroom. Huge smart tv to enjoy whilst staying in room. Bonus of microwave and coffee station too. Very enjoyable stay

Reasonable value & convenient but could be better

Convenient location and clean. Easy checkin with the key available from pub across the road. Had unusual single cup kettle and coffee maker and good selection of teas and coffees. Lights and bathroom tap were on timing sensors and both were a bit annoying particularly the tap when you were trying to fill a jug for the kettle. Bedclothing was a bit tired and there were only 2 fairly flat pillows on a standard size double bed. The thing I really didn’t like though was the musty smell of bedding and towels. Smelt like they had been put away damp after being washed.

To be fair this property was very clean. However, there was an unpleasant smell that was really strong at the top of the stairs and it was somewhat nauseating tbh. Also, the bed, while comfortable, had low quality, scratchy duvet cover and just two very thin pillows (we didn't find any extras stashed away anywhere) also the towels were small and extremely thin. There was a couple in the apartment downstairs who talked (in a very normal talking volume) to each other until the wee hours (like 2am) and we could hear it (although not what they were saying). I will not be renting this property again.
