"The rooms are very outdated and the bathroom was a mess when I arrived. (Like hair in the shower) The hotel is very conveniently located so that is a huge plus and not super expensive. I felt safe the whole time, and staff was helpful when I arrived. "

"This is a fun hotel for families. The staff were amazing, the facilities were clean and well kept up. The breakfast and happy hour were delicious. My granddaughter had fun in the pool but you have to keep your eye on things because it can get rough at times. We had a super time and everything was positive. There was even a text system if you have any issues and they respond quickly. "

The reason I would not give it 5-stars is the surprise additional $25/per day fee sprung on as at check-in - this was never clear or mentioned prior to arriving. "I took my 10-year-old grandson to Chicago for a spring break getaway. Our room at the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Magnificent Mile was perfect in every way. The bed was comfortable. The sofa with ottoman was relaxing after a long day of seeing the sights. We especially enjoyed the heated pool on the 10th floor. What a treat for my grandson! I recommend this hotel to anyone planning a stay in Chicago. "
