"Room was spacious with a huge bed. Styling of the room was really cool and it was immaculate. Bathroom was great with a big shower. Right next door to motorway services with a McDonald's and Costa. Staff are really friendly with a laid-back vibe. I wasn't expecting much but this hotel is amazing. I would definitely stay here again. "

"Stuart met us on arrival and was so helpful. Taking the time to advise us on best ways to go into town, and then changing our room to one with a separate shower rather than over the bath which was better for my husband. He arranged a taxi for us on departure day and was just so nice. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spotless."

"Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. A real asset to the Old Mill."

"Very nice lady on reception. Paid for breakfast which was not as ordered. We gave exact instruction as items to be very well cooked, this was not the case and did not have time to return it! The water in the shower was freezing. Plus the extractor very noisy. Parking was great and bus service very close. Enjoyed drinks in the bar, such a pity the other major things were not up to scrach. "

"Hall Farm cottage is in an excellent location for exploring County Durham, the cottage itself is of a really high standard with a well equipped kitchen and with more than enough utensils for two people, we found it very comfortable with an added bonus of a hot tub.If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing breakaway Hall Farm cottage is perfect."
