"This was probably a great hotel 70 years ago but they have not changed the carpets ever since, strong smell of cigarettes everywhere and absolute lack of care. Terrible first impression for anyone visiting England."

"A very old building but clean and the staff were very helpful. I had a fall while staying (not in the hotel) and Sandra on reception was very concerned and assisted with ice for my bruises and also fetched my bags down on our departure date. Would go there again but request a slightly bigger room. ..."

"The owner of this fabulous property is very thoughtful with the gifts he left us: bread, milk, butter, jam, eggs etc. This perfectly situated cottage is on a private road and so quiet and peaceful and there is no light pollution so the stars at night are wonderful - since I live in a city I forgot ..."
