It was lovely to return to The Moat House, although sadly, on my own. My late husband and I loved the convenient location, the beautiful, well kept grounds, the homely pub for tasty meals and the vast car park. When realising I’d left some property in the room, i called the hotel and it was sent by post to me within hours, only charging for postage. I’ll certainly be back

The hotel is like a country house with all the comforts. The surrounding garden and area are lovely The staff are professional and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for their guests. We have stayed here many times and never disappointed.

I would recommend the moat house, the staff were great and helpful, the room and food were exceptional. The scenery around the moat house is so beautiful. Thank you to the moat house it was one of the best nights sleep i have had since stopping in hotels. Wish i would have stopped longer

Can’t praise enough the staff and the service they provided. From booking in with Stacey, the waiting staff and cleaners everyone made us feel welcome and special due to our current circumstances. The food was lovely and well presented and the room comfortable and clean. Would recommend this hotel

Lovely hotel in super location, the only thing we found difficult was getting to bar and restaurant as my husband has mobility issues and is 91 years old, There are steep stairs so we had to walk to bar outside might be nice in summer but quite cold in February.

I was visiting overseas for a business trip and The Moat House was recommended to me by my associates. NO regrets at all, everything about this place made me feel like I was at home. The courteous staff, the home cooked meals, and the cleanliness EVERYTHING WS GREAT!

Great hotel
On arrival I noticed they had loads of parking spaces which is always a bonus. The hotel is in nice countryside surroundings , check in was easy and the staff very friendly and informative. My room was very nice and a decent size with a decent size bathroom also, was very quiet making it easy to relax and sleep. Breakfast was excellent and again very friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again so highly recommended!!!!

Amazing hotel

The property is in a beautiful quiet location. Lots of parking space, exelant breakfast, rooms and well equipped and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Reception and bar staff were excellent. Food was very good. My only issue was there seems to be a boiler of some kind in my room that made a humming sound most of the night which didn’t make for a comfortable nights sleep

Mixed feelings about our stay. Firstly the lady on reception when we arrived was excellent and went out of her way to help us; she’s a credit to the hotel. In addition, we were allocated a nice room in a quiet area of the hotel exactly as we requested. Unfortunately things went a little downhill when we arrived at the restaurant for our dinner reservation as the restaurant supervisor was away elsewhere and were ignored by all staff on duty for approximately 5 minutes (it seemed a lot longer). When we mentioned this to the supervisor when she finally appeared she didn’t take our lighthearted feedback well. She wasn’t rude but she made sure we knew she wasn’t happy we’d had the audacity to comment on being ignored. Sadly we found the food quite ordinary and very over priced. Although we had ordered two drinks soon after being shown to our table they didn’t actually arrive until we had nearly finished our main course and we’d not been served our food particularly quickly. At the end of the meal we requested our bill and again we experienced a delay of 20 minutes before, after asking again, the bill finally arrived. On a more positive note breakfast was okay although we were surprised that a tray of dirty glasses was brought out for use with the selection of juices. The staff quickly replaced them when it was brought to their attention. Would we recommend or stay here again? Probably not but if we did we would definitely avoid the restaurant for dinner.
