"Pros - good location. Short walk into town. Room clean, modern & spacious. Self check in with good clear instruction prior to arrival. Cons - Car park full so had to pay for parking on car park next door. No plates at breakfast only cardboard dishes which made it difficult to butter toast as the bread wouldn't fit in the dish. Would definately stay here again though & just maybe arrive earlier to get a parking space."

"We just had a really lovely one night stay at Elder Grove in Ambleside. The room was lovely and clean and I enjoyed relaxing in the lounge downstairs in the evening after diner. My husband didn’t mind it but I did find the bed rather firm. Other than that everything was great."

"Gable End was an ideal place for our multigenerational group to stay. It was right in the middle of everything in Ambleside, which gave everyone from 19 to 79 something fun to do all day. They stocked the cottage with supplies and a bottle of prosecco for us to enjoy, plus we had a fun time playing some of the games in the downstairs living area. It was the perfect home base for exploring the Lake District. I’d book again in a heartbeat!"

"This cottage is very characterfu, cosy and well equipped. The location is very quiet yet just a short walk to all the amenities Ambleside has to offer. Points that I would note are, the parking permit that you get allows you to park for free in MOST of the car parks in Ambleside but at very busy periods it can be very difficult to find a space, and we found this made us feel very anxious about travelling around during the day. It would be good if the bath plug was fixed an upgrade on the TV would be good, other than that I would recommend a stay here."
