We are sorry that you feel your stay here at Cricklade House was not as anticipated. There would appear to have been some misunderstandings when you have booked your room. A standard double is exactly what was provided for you, hair-dryers are located in the dressing table draw. For rooms providing robes, slippers, water, views and more might I suggest a Spa, Superior, Deluxe or Four Poster option. I appreciate they would be at an elevated cost compared to a Standard room, however well worth that little extra. Our Spa facilities are cleaned on a nightly basis, first Wednesday of the month the pool itself is deep cleaned. A water machine is provided 2 meters from poolside. The 1.2m pool satisfies the vast majority of our guests and spa members that use the facility regularly for both exercise and lesiure. We do not allow diving into the pool due to the risk of injury. I've inspected the corridor leading to your room and cannot locate any peeling paint. Rest assured if there is any found it will be promptly dealt with.It saddens me that you did not feel comfortable enough with our staff to have approached someone with your grievences whilst here at the hotel, I am sure we could have assisted you to meet your expectations.I do hope you reconsider our hotel as a retreat and relaxing environment.Kind regardsReception TeamCricklade House Hotel and Spa
