This building has a fascinating history! The private tour was really interesting. The views from the balcony are incredible. The owners and Maria were very attentive. The location is also very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Casa Cuseni is a wonderful place with a remarkable history that added a lot to our stay. Maria was fabulous in managing our visit and we found the entire experience to be quite charming and relaxing. We will definitely book this beautiful hotel again next time our travels bring us to Taormina.

Beautiful stay in art and history of Taormina
Our stay was an unforgettable experience, and we cannot recommend it enough! The location is fantastic; every room has a view of the ocean, Etna, and the breathtaking garden. You can easily walk to the city center in no time. All the staff members were so kind and welcoming. We learned so much about the property’s history from the guided tour and are very happy to be part of the conservation of Casa Cuseni.

Quiet elegance
You are literally staying in a Museum, so there aren't very many common areas to lounge in, and there isn't a restaurant (other than the little one at the top of the building where breakfast is served). The room we stayed in (Greta Garbo), was spacious, comfortable and had a simple beauty. (Except for the terrace, which was stunning). The hotel is also high above the town, so the views are spectacular, but there are a lot of stairs down into the town, and coming back up is a long haul). If you are looking for private, quiet elegance, without a ton of people or a busy hotel, then this is the place for you.

Amazing
What an amazing experience.This place is steeped in culture and history, and has the most amazing views of Taormina. It is not very modern in terms of furnishings or facilities (as they have tried to maintain the authenticity of the place), but that's a small price to pay in return for the amazing hospitality of the property manager and incredible historical tour she gave during our stay. Definitely recommend.

Superb and unusual
This is one of the loveliest most atmospheric places I have ever stayed. Every room is unique and rich with character and distinctive, artful decor. The views of the sea and Mt. Etna are beyond stunning: the volcano seemed to loom just beyond the terrace of my room. The staff was warm and welcoming, the breakfast excellent, and the location within Taormina convenient to everything. The brief tour of the villa is extremely interesting; all sorts of unusual guests have stayed there duringit's earlier incarnation as a private villa. I will happily return whenever I have the opportunity.

It is real great and fantastic stay in Taormina. A view from our room is beyond description. Hospitality of the staffs were more than family. So touched. Recommended for anyone over age 30. For young people, wait until reaching age 30 at least. Thank you

History lesson at Casa Cuseni
Loved staying in a Casa with so much history. Really loved staying in the William Faulkner room, as he is a neighbor from Oxford, Mississippi. Great old home. Lot of restoration being done with space and gardens being worked on! Gardens were extensive and wonderfully put in by Kitson, the original English owner

Absolutely stunning views and gardens. Staff was extremely helpful and cheerful. Large rooms and balconies. On the side of a hill over the town, so some fitness is required as there are steps and no elevator. Part Museum, Greta Garbo, Picasso, others stayed here. Older hotel. Trying to find it could be difficult as typewritten name over door buzzer is only sign. Signs in town point you in the right direction though and drivers know where it’s at.

We stayed in the Greta Garbo suite at Casa Cuseni as a family of three. Plenty of room, character and lovely veranda with stunning view of Mt Etna, sea and garden. New shower and bathroom. Short walk downhill to town. We were very pleased and comfortable!

The property has a fascinating history, is designated a National Monument, and delivers stunning views of Mount Etna and the sea from its hillside location. The staff are knowledgeable and proud of the Heritage as well as friendly & helpful. It’s a really cool place to stay and if we ever return to Taormina we would certainly stay there again.

Highlight of my trip to Sicily
Casa Cuseni was the highlight of my trip to Sicily. I stayed in the Daphne Phelps room which is absolutely stunning. The room has the most beautiful light and views. The original floors and furniture are gorgeous and I loved all of the original artwork in the room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom is clean with a modern shower. The breakfasts were fantastic, and all of the staff were friendly, kind, and helpful. I did the museum tour with Maria and loved all of the art, artifacts, and stories about the home and the garden. This is such a special place, I hope to be able to stay here again.

Casa Cuseni is totally unique and in itself a reason to visit Taormina. You feel like a guest in the house and can enjoy wondering and admiring the gardens and interiors freely. Read the book - a house in Sicily, before you go .

Exceeded expectations by a mile
Outstanding personal service from friendly and welcoming owners and staff. The villa itself is unique as is each room. Glorious gardens and stunning views from a private terrace. Easy walk to well preserved Greek theater. Daphne Phelps wrote the book "A House in Sicily" about this house. It was built by her uncle, the British artist Robert Kitson, and is full of art and interesting stories. Highly recommended! Parking is a challenge but the staff totally take care of you. Once the car is parked, you won't need it again until you leave.

The rooms are spacious with stunning views. Our hosts were gracious and shared the significant history of the house. There are special places in the gardens to relax yet it is a short walk to the heart of Taoromina.

Very unusual hotel .
We had a feel of staying at the private villa owned by the friends . Clelia is wonderful , friendly and helpful. The location to the sites is very convenient . You need to be fit to do steps , but if you come to Taormina , it is a must everywhere . It will be the most unforgettable experience !

historic house with outstanding views
Casa Cuseni is a 'national monument' and we felt privileged to be able to stay there. The ground floor is a fascinating museum (too dry a word!) with a range of original artworks and artefacts created by the past owners and artists who have stayed there, including a memorable mural by Frank Brangwyn. We stayed in the 'Daphne Phelps' room - it was her house before the present owners took over - which had wonderful balconies and views over the sea and towards Etna. The room was very large and comfortable with original furnishings and artworks. The owners had a family connection with the previous owners and their affection for the house and the magnificent gardens was obvious - it was a delight to talk to them (and the manager, Clelia) about the house, its history and the gardens.

Lovely place to stay with stunning views
Casa Cuseni is a lovely place to stay. Located above the Corso the views across the bay and to Mt Etna are stunning. We were warmly greeted and provided with a coffee in our room on arrival, making us quickly feel at home. We were upgraded from our room to the Junior Suite which was much appreciated - being January it was very quiet. The suite was spacious, with a couch that enabled us to sit and take in the view. The bed was very comfortable. While I understand that not all rooms have an ensuite, ours did. The breakfast room was light and sunny and the breakfast was simple and pleasant. The coffe was excellent. After breakfast we had a tour of the historic property. It's story is fascinating and was in truth why we chose to stay in the first place. We very much enjoyed our time at Casa Cuseni.

Magical.....
Casa Cuseni is a magical place. The gardens are so beautiful and its perch high on a hill overlooking Taormina provides spectacular panoramas of the entire coastline. Our balcony framed a perfect view of Mt. Etna from base to sputtering top. It was so quiet we could imagined how life in the house felt in the early 1900's when it was first built. And I must praise the hard-working, committed staff. Francesco, Clelia, Mimma, Angelina and the rest of the staff really extend themselves to make sure that guests are comfortable and make the most of their time in and around Taormina. Clelia booked us a fabulous trip up Mt. Etna with Paolo of EtnaPeople.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Cuseni with its fantastic location in Taormina. The house and garden are historic and have English links to various key names from the world of arts and books in the 20th century. Coupled with friendly and helpful staff and a spacious suite on the top floor with spectacular views of Etna and the Bay of Naxos, contributed to an excellent holiday in a lovely corner of Sicily.

Historical charm and comfort some steps up...
Casa Cuseni is not a traditional hotel, but a mix of museum, residence and albergo boutique situated just some (dozen) steps from Porta Catania. It may not be for everyone, but it suited me quite well. The room is large, the furniture is as historical as the building itself, the bed is comfortable, linen and towels are of superior quality, and it seems like you grandma house, with an atmosphere a bit twisted. I loved my stay; the views are amazing, and my room had an enormous terrace which offered me the Etna all day long. If you are not looking for a chain hotel, and you like different places to stay, and you don't mind climbing some steps two or three or four times a day, Casa Cuseni may be the place for you. Last thing: there is a new pool available... enjoy!

Casa Cuseni es sin duda el lugar más especial para quedarse en Taormina. Es una casa-Museo que, con toda la historia tan fascinante que tiene detrás, en sí misma ya es única. Pudimos hacer el tour por toda la estancia —jardín incluido— que está repleta de obras de arte, antigüedades y primeras ediciones. Incluso accedimos a la habitación estilo Arts & Crafts, antiguo comedor principal de la casa, y la única en el mundo diseñada en su totalidad por Sir Frank Brangwy. Estuvo cerrada durante un siglo debido a la historia tan especial que se está narrada en sus frescos. La habitación muy amplia, cómoda y con todo lo necesario; decorada con mobiliario siciliano auténtico del s. XVII y acuarelas de Robert Kitson. Desayuno muy agradable, con buen café y opciones tanto dulces como saladas. No pudimos elegir mejor, y nos encantaría volver en otra ocasión. Smukke Casa Cuseni
Opholdet på Casa Cuseni var helt fantastisk. Charmerende hus med spændende historie og eventyrlig have. Personalet meget søde og hjælpsomme og gav os en fin guidet tur i museet og fortælling om husets historie. Morgenmaden var god og blev serveret med udsigt over have, by og hav. Casa Cuseni er en lille oase i Taormina, hvor vi følte os hjemme. Fantastisk smukt!!!

. Vi har igennem flere år kendt til Daphne Phelps historie via hendes bog "A house in Sicily" og ønsket os at besøge Casa Cuseni . På Casa Cuseni bliver man budt indenfor i en tidslomme og kan for en tid tro at tiden er skruet tilbage . Fantastisk oplevelse ! Es gibt nur wenige Plätze dieser Art, die die Welt zu verteilen hat .. und Casa Cuseni ist bestimmt eine davon. Das Setting ist atemberaubend, in einem wunderschönen verwunschenen Garten. Keine Wunder dass großartige Künstler, Designer und Denker diesen Ort aufgesucht haben.

Historisches Haus mit viel Atmosphäre
Ich wurde bei der Ankunft mit Vornamen angesprochen und geduzt. Das mag für eine Jugendherberge passen, mir ist das nicht recht. Das Service sonst ist sehr freundlich. Haus und Garten sind sehr schön haben jedoch bereits eine gewisse Patina, die Atmosphäre und der Ausblick wiegen das aber auf.

Très bien, magnifique vue sur mer
la casa Cuseni se trouve dans la rue Léonard de Vinci. Elle est située au dessus de la rue touristique et commerçante de Taormina. ou il y a de nombreux magasins de mode et de luxe . On passe de l' une a l'autre par une succession d'escaliers. La chambre est très grande, confortable avec une literie excellente . La salle de bain est plutôt petite mais fonctionnelle. Notre chambre avait une belle vue sur mer et donnait sur une terrasse très agréable. Le tout est très propre. Le petit déjeuner est copieux avec fruits, fromages, charcuterie œufs au plat etc . L'accueil est bon. Nous avons été reçus par deux personnes: la première aimable, la seconde souriante faisant tout son possible pour rendre le séjour sympathique. la climatisation est simple efficace silencieuse. Ce sont globalement des prestations de très bon niveau. Je précise cependant qu'il y a un petit garage permettant d' accueillir une seule voiture lors de l'arrivée et que notre voiture a été conduite vers un garage plus grand. La conduite pour monter a Taormina puis pour circuler dans Taormina est plutôt difficile et nous conseillons de bien se renseigner sur les parkings a Taormina car il y a peu de places et le stationnement est anarchique.

一生の思い出になる素晴らしい滞在
4泊のタオルミーナの滞在うち後半2泊を母と宿泊しました。 周辺のホテルとは少し違う僅か数室の素敵なお屋敷です。 お庭にはレモンやオレンジの木、美しい花々が植えられています。 お部屋からも朝食をいただく最上階のサンルームからのタオルミーナの真っ青な海が眺められます。 朝食も全て手作りで、滞在初日の朝はオーナーご主人がパウンドケーキを焼いてくださいました。 コルソウンベルトまで坂をくだってすぐで立地も便利ですが、喧噪からは適度に離れており落ち着いて過ごせます。出発の朝、女優のグレタ・ガルボがかつて1年住んだお屋敷と聞き、まさに思い出に残る素敵な滞在になりました。タオルミーナ内の高級ホテルとはまた違う特別な滞在になること間違いなしと思います。 ぜひおすすめします！！

歴史を感じる見晴らしの良いホテル
広い庭といくつものバルコニーを持つ、見晴らしの良いホテルです。 メインストリート『コルソ・ウンベルト』までは階段と坂道をまっすぐ降りていくだけなので利便性は良いのですが、ホテルの帰り道は昇りが続くので結構息が上がります。朝ごはんはオーナー（お医者さん）と奥様が準備をしてくれます。 オーナーが朝５時起きで収穫したというフレッシュなオレンジジュースと、焼きたてのクロワッサンも柑橘系の香りがして美味でした。イギリスから来たゲストが紅茶のお湯がもっと熱いほうが良いと仰っていましたが、何よりも景色が良いので最高です。

素晴らしいロケーション
最高のロケーションでした。　ベランダからの景色・徒歩圏での観光・親切なサービス、本当に快適なタオルミーナでの滞在でした。　ホテルの入口を探すのに少し手間取りました。　もともと、美術館だったそうで、Museo を目印にされたら分かりやすいです。
