"We have stayed at The Powfoot Hotel as a stopover on the way to our final destination in Scotland. It is an absolute gem. Of course there are newer and plusher hotels but this place takes some beating for its idyllic location, courteous and professional service, cleanliness, comfort and good value restaurant. Well done all of you at The Plowfoot Hotel, you have put this place firmly on the map for us."

"I booked 2 rooms, both of which were excellent, very clean and beautifully furnished, recently fitted bathrooms with excellent facilities. The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, they made us feel very comfortable in the beautiful location. We really enjoyed our pre dinner drinks by the open fire in the guests lounge and learning about the history as we explored the building. Delicious food, we met the chef who checked our exact needs. We could not find any faults at all with our stay and it was terrific value. We would also say thank you for the personal extra messages from the owner with directions and checking that everything was satisfactory with our stay which I am delighted to say it was. The grounds are lovely and had we had more time and better weather would have explored more. If I come back to this area of Scotland, I will definitely rebook and cannot recommend this location enough. Thank you for a wonderful experience. "
