Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Enclosed courtyard with sitting-out area and garden furniture. On-road parking, 500 yards: additional public car parking, 350 yards, free of charge. No smoking. . Situated in the very centre of the Calderdale market town of Todmorden is this beautifully presented property. Accessed via a short narrow lane a stone’s throw from Todmorden train station. As soon as you step through the gate you won’t be disappointed. You enter the property via the enclosed courtyard which catches the sun well into the evening, and into a wonderful sunroom. You’ll immediately find the property is jam packed full of character with each and every room stylishly decorated with a blend of beautifully coordinated colours and furnishings. The open plan living and dining space overlooks Todmorden’s’ open market on the main high street, and in the bathroom pride of place is a beautiful slipper bath. The access and steep narrow stairs mean the property isn’t suited to those with reduced mobility, however its central location and vicinity to the train station means it’s perfect for those wanting to give their cars a rest.
Within Todmorden town centre is a fine selection of restaurants, cafes, pubs and independent shops, together with the afore mentioned market for your shopping pleasure! Loved by outdoor enthusiasts you can spend the day walking along the Rochdale Canal or taking a hike along the Pennine Way to the Stoodley Pike Monument. Just under 5 miles (or a 7-minute train journey) is the popular destination of quirky Hebden Bridge which is also home to National Trusts Hardcastle Craggs.
From Hebden Bridge a scenic drive over the moors takes you to Haworth where the splendid Parsonage Museum commemorates the famous Bronte family who lived there. With the Peak District National Park to the south, the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the north and direct train links to both Leeds and Manchester you can be assured that there’s something to keep you busy and entertained throughout your whole trip.
