What can i say about the la rosa hotel all the staff was polite couldn't do anuff for us wile we was there i found out im allergic to feather quits and the changed them amediatley if you like bespoke room that the place to stay i we will diffinetly be going back thank you for the wonderful experience

Individual, quirky and awesome hotel
The La Rosa is an awesome quirky, individual hotel. If you want corporate blandness avoid at all costs. If you want to be treated as an individual and like something different this is the place to be in Whitby. The staff are awesome and love a chat in the bar over one of their amazing cocktails. Special mention to Brodie who was great company in the bar. We stopped in the sacre coeur which is a lovely room with a great view of the Abbey. The room has a bath and lots of French inspired nick nacks on display. The heating was very hot in the room so don't worry if visiting in Winter. The whole hotel is an individual mix with a 20's kind of vibe, which is very relaxing - leave the corporate modern world behind for a bit and enjoy!

Amazing
A fabulous weekend at La Rosa. All the staff were unbelievably amazing. Brody in particular was an excellent host as we spent a few hours in the Cocktail Library. The Arabesque Room wasso cosy and the bed was so comfortable, we didn't want to get up! Breakfast in our room was a lovely touch. The hotel is eco-friendly minimising their use of plastics. The toiletries in the room were beautiful (hand made soap) The attention detail to everything the hotel does sets it apart from anywhere else we've stayed. We will definitely be celebrating our anniversary here again next year 💖

Quiet, comfortable, warm, excellent views, helpful and friendly staff, imaginative and fun decor, conveniently situated. Only complaint was a badly cracked wash basin. BUT a beautiful, spacious bath.

Nice property and location, but let down by overall room cleanliness. Lot of dust, bits and crumbs in bed as if it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. Had to request new towels as the first set stank of mould/damp and didn’t look clean - smell was bad enough that it left the smell on my skin. Bath was nice and big, view was good, staff were friendly.

Absolutely lovely atmosphere
A little bijou haven. Not your modern clean crisp lines so if that’s what you want keep searching. Helen Rob and John the dog are amazing as are all the La Rosa crew. Hotel was like stepping back in time lots of childhood memorabilia fun.

Lovely Unique Hotel
The stay was lovely and very unique, this is a hotel with a very old timey vibe, don’t expect televisions or anything with too much of a “modern” feel, but that is a good thing, it add to the character of the building overall, just take your laptop or Netflix on ya phone if it’s an issue, as they do have Wi-Fi! They have a tea room with a lovely vibe, and a cocktail lounge with lots of unique choice, Vampire Velvet was good, just bring a strong liver, they are boozy! Good location, it is a hell of a walk if you take the steps up so I recommend to stick to the ramps and if you have mobility issues especially so, but it’s still doable and 100% worth it for the views. And the BATH my goodness the tin bath in the Saloon room was a lifesaver! Cooled our aching muscles down a treat 😂

Most unique - pretend you are a traveling Victorian.. I had skate wing at the Magpie and the most fabulous view of the Abbey from our bed. The hop off hop on bus starts practically out the door and eliminates ant need to walk up or Dow the steep “cliffs” to the town below or the Abbey across the harbor..

We have been wanting to stay here for a long time, we finally did and it met all our expectations. The staff are amazing, and the rooms are incredible. Nice and warm in the cold weather too.

The Crows Nest is our apartment on the top floor. We are a boutique vintage hotel with lots of antiques and treasures.Sorry we weren’t the right hotel for you.

Quirky and luxurious
The La Rosa hotel is truly an incredible place to stay. The decor is so fun, the cocktail bar is great and the room we stayed it was super comfortable. The bed is absolute heaven and the big bath just adds to the luxurious comfort. We didn't have breakfast but we heard it was fab, the free milk and juice we got dropped off every morning was a lovely touch. The only small thing we would have changed is that the bed frame was pretty creaky and the walls are kinda thin...

Ever wonder what a 5-star hotel would be like if they took away all the nonsense you never need and doubled down on what made you happy? This is La Rosa in a nutshell. Insanely clever attention to detail and wonderfully warm hospitality of the anticipating your needs before you even have them kind. The interior design is a joy and a dream and a constant discovery. If you can't tell yet - we adored our stay and hope to return again and again. Literally cannot recommend it enough.

Unfortunately this was very very uncomfortable stay. No lighting no wardrobes no space,dark, no other available rooms… nice staff😌 Very overpriced disappointing stay we could not relax in such an oppressive room..

I must say it’s the first time any of our rooms have been described as oppressive! Romantic, dramatic, sumptuous…..yes, but oppressive is a new one 😂 We provide hangers and hooks instead of a wardrobe. Sorry we weren’t the hotel for you.

Exactly what the advertisement said the hotel was like…quirky,clean,we’ll run and fantastic hosts,would not hesitate to book again. Give it a go you will be more than happy and Whitby is a lovely place to stay

Exquisite stay
It was amazing , room was quirky and bed was very comfortable and the bath was exquisite . The breakfast was divine . Only things to mention , no DVD players anymore so this needs updating on website and I think dressing gowns in the room would be lovely but that’s a personal choice . Wil absolutely be back I didn’t want to leave .

La Rosa - through the rabbit hole
La Rosa is unique, astounding and never ceases to impress. It requires an open-minded inquisitiveness in its guests as well as a certain confidence to embrace it. Great place to stay
Fantastic place to stay, will be back to stay in a different themed room. Only disappointment was that the breakfast hamper could have been a bit more varied, having the same yogurt/ snack bar / pastries became boring.

We try to rotate options of pastries, fruit and granola bars but with the current issues around the country we are struggling to get our normal items which are becoming more difficult to get hold of at the moment.

Bonkers!! A cross between Alice in Wonderland and Dracula. Cheerful and quirky. Great cocktails and breakfast was terrific, considering it’s delivered to you room in a paper bag. Would recommend La Rosa.

It was ok
A very quirky hotel. Pleasant. However in Arabesque room no TV and no shower. Poor lighting for reading. No dining facilities. Breakfast continental delivered to room. A quite large breakfast for continental type. Overall pretty reasonable but very different.

Great place to stay!
Great little hotel! My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. Staff were all ver friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious each morning and the rooms are so quirky and cool! Thoroughly recommend staying.
