"I enjoyed my stay and the location is unbeatable! Very walkable to the monastic city and the hiking trails. I found the interior charming because it was retro - a bit like taking a time machine into the 90s. It was no frills, but it reminded me pleasantly of my childhood. If you're expecting something very modern and/or fancy, you might be disappointed, but I feel like the main attraction is Glendalough.
I loved the restaurant here, the waiters were nice and the food was good! The hotel staff here were helpful and polite. The free breakfast was better than the reviews led me to expect. Not fancy, but decent considering it was free. The front desk seems unstaffed outside of the check-in period, but there is a really comfortable lobby hidden away behind the check in area, that you can rest in while you wait.
If not for the location, I would have rated this 4/5, but thanks to the location, 5/5!"
"Apologies to the manage, I unfortunately I had not made contact before we arrived in Ireland, although an email was sent, which I missed. The lovely staff at the Wicklow Heather Restaurant on our first night, were able to explain where we were to head for and a neighbour helped with the keypad login! The views were fantastic and the weather clear and warm. This Wicklow lodge is a most tranquil, enjoyable place to stay, with all the amenities one could want. My 91 yr old Mum and I manage the flights of steps using our sticks, I had not checked whether there would be steps! they did not detract from our enjoyment. Definitely 10/10, perfect for us.Thank you for this wonderful llodge in the mountains of Wicklow"
"Very charming older building in a quiet area off a main highway. Delicious food in the restauraunt! Friendly staff. Large, clean room. Free parking tucked away behind the building. "
"From the moment we arrived, we experienced such warmth and hospitality. The view from our garden suite was absolutely beautiful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a small fridge, plates, glasses, silverware and coffee machine---All the things you might need for a your stay. The homemade breakfasts were fantastic!! We have been to Ireland many times as my husband's family is from Co. Galway. We have stayed in many B&Bs over the years, but this one was by far our absolute favorite. The surroundings and walk to the lake are gorgeous and the cute donkeys in the field showed us great hospitality too! 🥰
Options for restaurants are a short drive from the B&B and beautiful hiking and walking opportunities all around you. I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle. We miss it already and just got home! Thank you for such a wonderful stay! Jenny & Sean ♥️"
"We arrived slightly earlier than the check-in time, and were greeted by Christopher, who gave us a tour and couldn't have been nicer. We had two rooms for a family of 4. The rooms are very clean, and the beds were super comfy! The lodge is quiet. I barely heard or saw another tenant while we were there, even though they were fully booked. This is a beautiful property close to all the sites in Glendalough."
"We had a wonderful room and the bar/restaurant was open and delicious. We were right next to a gas station that had a public washer and dryer which we took advantage of. I highly recommend this inn."
Delightful Tiny House with stunning views in the Dublin Mountains!
10/10 Excellent
"This is a lovely little holiday home in a most beautiful area. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Check in/out was faultless and Linda & Paul were extremely welcoming, leaving some delicious provisions for us to enjoy. It would be great to return one day and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others."
