I would really recommend this pub for your stay in Oxford. The room I had was decent and the food i ate both in the evening (it has a predominant seafood menu with specials) and breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even when they were busy.

Nice stay very very warm in the rooms. If it’s a quiet room you are after this isn’t the place when you are on the beer garden side. A nice problem to have in summer!

Cute place to stay in Woodstock.

Great stay, fab breakfast. Room was tiny but adequate. The room key was huge which was annoying but other than that a great stay

Fantastic stay and couldn’t recommend it more. All staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The food was seriously good and the pub cosy. Perfect for an evening next to an open fire.

Woodstock for Blenheim

Very convenient hotel for visiting Blenheim Palace. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel room was clean and pleasant. Woodstock is a cute village.

We stayed for just one night to visit Blenheim Palace which is an easy walk from the hotel. Comfortable room with good linen and bed etc. Staff really friendly and efficient. Food available was well prepared and tasty and there was plenty of choice. Breakfast was fresh and well presented. Would stay again

Good food could have had A/C however the fan was a god send because it was so hot at night the staff were very friendly and so were the people in Woodstock I would stop there again

Lovely place and near blenheim palace which we were visiting. A bit expensive on food and drinks, but nice food . Only thing the last bill was £7.18 dearer for some reason.

Cramped room. Lovely restaurant.

Room was in the eaves of the roof. Extremely steep steps with poor headroom. The room & bathroom also was very small with poor headroom. The restaurant was lovely with great food. If there was a nicer more spacious room I would stay again, but not in the room I was in.

Birthday treat

Lovely break away for the wife's birthday, Cosy room with very comfy bed and the usual small en-suite facilities. The staff were great, so friendly and helpful and the food was great. Woodstock is a lovely village with several nice pub`s. The only minor complaint would be the sneaky 12.5% service chanrge added to our food and drinks bill, although that could be just that I missed it on a menu, still with a pricey menu an added charge seemed a bit much.

Extremely disappointed with our stay due to excessive noise, had to phone dosn after midnight asking it to stop, not a good idea of staff holding a party whilst you have paying guests staying. Particularly chose separate rooms so as to get a good night sleep which we certainty didn't get.

Other reviewers have mentioned room number 5, which is where I stayed. It’s in the attic. The room was very clean but hot to the point of being unbearable. There was a very inadequate portable air conditioner. With temperatures in the high 20s it’s really important to invest in good appliances and the air conditioner did nothing to lower the room temperature. The fridge was empty, no water supplied until a member of staff came up to sort a minor problem with the shower and a bottle of water and ice was brought up when he realised how hot the room was. The shower attachment was loose so the water sprayed out and the taps in the sink were loose. Not a great experience overall.
