Short Birthday Break
The location of the property is amazing, right on the bank of the River Severn which meant the television was never turned on. This historic house is spacious, there was seven of us staying, a great layout and very comfy. Our host Alison provided great communication, made sure we had arrived OK and that all was well upon our arrival. The house was clean and homely with a lovely surprise of a cake and milk in the fridge. If you're looking for a peaceful break in a stunning location then we would highly recommend it.

Bank Cottage is ideal for a relaxing holiday. I spent all week fishing very successfully and the wife was more than happy to relax in the comfortable cottage and peaceful surroundings. A perfect week for both of us.

Most enjoyable stay in a great location
This is a lovely location, looking right over the river. It would have been much nicer if the weather was better when we were there! The communication from the owner was very good, and they were kind enough to leave a cake. A couple of slight glitches - a slow leak to the toilet, and the blind in the triple bedroom was broken and so we had to hook it up, but all most enjoyable. We'd come again.

Bank Cottage Heaven
This stay has been long awaited and did not disappoint. The setting is idyllic ( I love the River Severn). Well over 50 kingfisher sightings plus cormorants, herons, buzzards, swans etc. No fish for us this time, but it's called fishing, not catching! Alison could not have been more thoughtful and even left a cake for my birthday.

A very relaxing break
Upon arrival at the property we were blown away by the location and the view. Within 5-10 minutes of being sat outside we saw kingfishers flying upstream ( this became a regular occurrence throughout our stay). As the weather was very hot while we were there the fishing was very slow through the day but if you make the effort and get up early you will be rewarded with much better fishing. We caught Bream, pike, perch, roach, bleak and chub. Would definitely return at a later date and highly recommend.

This is a marvellous, well equipped property, right on the river with a pleasant walking route (not long) along the riverbank to the North. It is a short drive to Great Malvern and the Malvern Hills and there is a good choice of nearby options to eat out. The cottage is warm and very comfortable - and I recommend it if you're looking for pleasant, relaxing accommodation close to the Malverns.

We had a lovely short break with friends at Bank Cottage. On arriving we were worried about being cold as the place was freezing but once we got the central heating on and lit the wood burner the place was very warm and comfortable. The welcome cake was a lovely bonus. Enjoyed watching the birds and walking.

Had a fantastic winter getaway at banks cottage!
Our family spent 10 days at banks cottage in the middle of January for a winter getaway from London. Firstly the cottage is really beautiful and clean and is equipped with everything you need. As you can imagine is was freezing that time of year but the cottage was nice and toasty with the fire place and central heating going! The surrounding countryside was full of wildlife and my son enjoyed some great fishing right outside the cottage. Also some great walks nearby and lots of pubs within short driving distance. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Thanks again Alison

Great New Year's Break
From the minute we booked the cottage, the communication from the owner was great. On arrival small messages and cake were left (along with the essentials) which was a great surprise. Small things made the difference, such as pre lining the baking trays. On departure, the owners checked to make sure everything was ok too. We had a great stay with amazing views in a very quiet secluded location. Many thanks for a relaxing stay and great start to the new year!

Beautiful riverside cottage in picturesque location on the banks of the Severn. The host, Alison, was very welcoming and informative, making the holiday a relaxing experience. The cottage is very well equipped and ideally suited for the angler or outdoor enthusiast. Ideally placed for exploring the Malvern hills or going further afield but there are short walks nearby and an abundance of wildlife can be seen from the cottage

Excellent location with great fishing from the garden. Lovely views of the river from one of the sitting rooms and breakfast area. Log burning fire with free wood for when it's cold was a bonus. The house has everything you need for self catering including utensils and crockery. Tea and coffee was provided along with an amazing cake as a welcome gift. Communication with the owner was great and we were made to feel at home from the off. The grounds the house sits in are lovely and well maintained. We loved our break here and would definitely return.

Lovely little cottage for a short getaway
Me and my friends were looking for an isolated property in the country so we could get away from the hassles of work and COVID and this cottage Alison has lived up to that billing! It was incredibly clean and presented when we arrived and was easy to maintain! A very homely cottage that did feel like a second home for us. The location was lovely with a short drive / taxi to the city of Worcester and a good selection of pubs on offer which were walking distance! Overall a very lovely place which we may soon come back to. Alison also left us a lovely welcome surprise and was easy to get in touch if we had any questions about the property! A very lovely host. Would 100% recommend 😊

This is a beautiful large Cottage. Everything that may be needed (and more) was thoughtfully provided by the Owner Alison, plus a lovely welcoming gift on arrival, much appreciated. Very clean and comfortable. (Even electric fans are available in case they should be needed). The garden is big and secure. Immediately outside the garden is a pleasant path, which is ideal for walking dogs. The river runs just beyond this, and lovely for watching boats cruising along. Fishing can also be enjoyed from a private mooring. A perfect and relaxing holiday.

Incredible location ...
Wow what an amazing house right on the banks of the River Severn. Great dog walks from the front of the house and the enclosed garden ensured Biccie and Jim had the holiday of their lives. It is so quiet and peaceful, nature lovers will adore it - plus a lovely log fire in the evenings too so it was super cosy. There was just the two of us plus two doggies but you could take a large family here as there are two lounges and loads of outdoor seating too. Thanks to Alison for all the communication leading up to our arrival. We rented a boat from Upton Marina which was great as we then went as far as the house by river too - great morning's adventure.

A safe fishing getaway from coronovirus
We found this property whilst looking for a fishing break for my son and I that was by the River Severn and as virus safe as possible, for the wife and I as we have been and are to a greater part isolating due to age and health. The wife having been coaxed along as chief cook etc she was extremely Pleased to see and feel as safe as we did , away from our home with fishing for me and our eldest son. Wow what a great time chilling out, made up meals from our local butcher, no need to shop, fantastic scenery and wild life activity, really looking forward to coming back when the country is in better times. We will definitely be booking next year virus or no virus.

We had a great week here in Sept/Oct. Really nice to have the extra lounge - we used the front one in the day and switched to the cosy lounge with the log burner in the evening. Despite the dodgy weather we spent time sitting outside as soon as the sun came out. Lovely to watch the various little birds fitting about on the feeders. Would certainly stay again.

Lovely, Spacious Cottage – Ideal Location for the Fisherman
Just the two of us enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing week at Bank Cottage and after reading reviews from previous guests, we were delighted to find that it most definitely did live up to everything (and more), that we had expected and hoped for. Primarily chosen for its wonderful location and easy access to the River Severn, Bank Cottage is a fisherman’s dream. The fishing all week, was excellent and being able to just nip out of the door early in the morning and watch the sun rise over the water, whilst catching a variety of decent sized fish, (including a personal best 10lb 12oz Barbel - on a float rod), was just heaven. The cottage itself, is spacious, well equipped, clean and comfortable and the garden / balcony area is the ideal spot for relaxing and taking in the beautiful sights of the river, birds, horses and wildlife. We have already made bookings for further stays and are looking forward to return visits to this lovely, historic cottage and peaceful surroundings. We would recommend this property, so thank you Alison.

Fantastic Stay at Bank Cottage
Family of four recently enjoyed a wonderful week at Bank Cottage. Main purpose of the trip was to introduce my sons to fishing and the location is absolutely perfect for that due to the private access to the river with several spots to choose from. Both boys landed their first fish within minutes and over the course of the week we'd landed a whole shoals of Dace, Roach, Gudgeon, Chubb and some nice-sized Bream. When not fishing the location is such that you can just sit back and enjoy the view, watching the extensive variety of wildlife go about its day - butterflies, moles, horses, dragonflies, swans, ducks, herons, cormorants, wagtails, several species of tit, very plump robins, pheasants, even the back end of a vole disappearing into the undergrowth - and, to crown it all, the resident kingfisher going back and forth across the river. Absolutely idyllic, with every day bringing something new. There's plenty to do in the area - walks along the river bank, boats can be hired for the day from Upton Marina, Great Malvern 2 minute drive and Worcester easily accessible by train from there (10 mins); the highlight was the view from the top of the Malvern beacon, which was absolutely spectacular and well worth the short hike from the Beacon car park - there are more challenging climbs if you are into that sort of thing. The cottage itself is well-appointed, with everything you need for a cosy, comfortable stay; best of all was the wood-burner which kept us toasty on the one day with rain; the owners had already laid out the fuel so it just needed lighting and there was endless extra fuel available from the log-pile. All appliances worked fine, there is a good information pack to help, with a few books and games as well. The Wifi was fine - thumbs up from both boys, who are the toughest judges - and we were able to use the Firestick without issue; main TV signal was good in all rooms. We found the beds comfortable and no-one had any problems dropping off, helped by the location - proper dark and quiet which made a real change for us townies. An unexpected treat was watching the sun come up from the comfort of the bed - one bedroom looks directly east over the river and farmlands. Finally, a word of thanks to Alison and her husband who we met a couple of times and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable - Job done! All in all a wonderful place that I heartily recommend and to which we would have no hesitation in returning.

Would highly recommend staying at this property, would be suitable for families as well as groups looking for a base to walk and explore the Malvern Hills and having the river right on hand for fishing or boating.
