Nice easy check in, helpful staff, great breakfast. We saw a manager personally greet two staff laying tables, who must have been new, they seemed a bit overawed after he went out of his way to stop and chat to them and shake their hands. A mark of excellent people management which didn't go unnoticed.

Beautiful! best hotel I stayed in during my whole London trip’

I have a mixed review of the Bartley Lodge. It is on beautiful grounds and was one of the few hotels in the area with a (small) pool. We arrived early, and even though our room wasn't ready, they let us walk the grounds and use the pool, which was amazing. Our room was incredibly hot (granted it was during a heatwave, but our room was hotter than the hallway or anywhere else in the hotel). There was an A.C. unit in the room, but it was broken. The other complaint was about the toilet, which was very touchy about flushing. We called down to the front desk 3 times before someone came up to look at it. This employee was able to get it to flush, but mentioned that he gets complaints about the toilet often. We were only able to get it to flush occasionally and joked that you had to have the magic touch. The swimming pool was a lifesaver as was the grounds and gardens. It is a beautiful hotel, and we had good and not so good service there, so it definitely is a mixed review. I would probably recommend it with a few stipulations.

When we arrived the staff were very welcoming and happy to show us to our room Anything we wanted was no trouble at all The room was amazingly clean and we presented and the bedding so soft. The only thing was that the window didn't open enough but that's just a personal preference especially in the heat despite the air con and fan. The food well what can I say simply amazing We had 3 courses and each plate was to die for I've eaten in Michelin star restaurants before and that was just as good. A little pricey but you do get what you pay for. We will be visiting again in the near future for sure. Thank you the team of the white star tavern
