Hotel was fine but it was not ina very picturesque area.

One of the best features of this property was the location. It is located in the French Quarter and convenient to everything. The staff was very professional and the room was extremely clean! The only downsides to our stay was the building needs some updating. The lobby and front desk had a strong musty, moldy smell. Upon looking up at the ceiling, I could see that the vents were dripping water and puddled on the floor. The humidity in Charleston is oppressive and if air conditioning systems are not equipped to handle high temperatures mold and mildew will result in unhealthy conditions for occupants. I know this from living in Florida during the summer months. Also, the ads for this hotel feature the teddy bears on the beds of the room and state that they are available for sale at the front desk. We were told that none are available for sale and the marketing will be changed in the future. This is a disappointment to guests and I feel that the ads and website should reflect these changes. The bears are a wonderful marketing idea but should be removed from ads for the hotel and from the rooms.

Fantastic place to stay while in Charleston

I had a wonderful stay at The Vendue! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making me feel right at home. The hotel itself is full of charm—blending historic character with modern comfort in such a unique way. My room was beautifully decorated, spotless, and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made the stay extra special. One of the highlights was the rooftop bar, which offered incredible views and a fun atmosphere in the evenings. The location is perfect as well—right in the heart of Charleston, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and the waterfront. Overall, The Vendue provided the perfect mix of hospitality, comfort, and style. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Charleston!
