The staff was wonderful—helpful, welcoming, and especially accommodating when we arrived around 8 AM after an overnight flight. Our room wasn’t scheduled to be ready until 3 PM, but they made a real effort to get us settled and managed to have it ready by noon on a Sunday, which we greatly appreciated. The room itself was surprisingly spacious, particularly for a European hotel in an older converted building. We had plenty of room for our suitcases and to hang our clothes—a major plus. The bathroom was also large and spotless, although it really could use some shelving for toiletries. There was plenty of unused space, but virtually nowhere to put anything except a tiny pedestal. The shower was phenomenal: excellent pressure, a great handheld shower, and a gorgeous rain shower that felt heavenly. Our two significant complaints were the lighting and the bed. There are steps between the sleeping area and the foyer/bathroom, but no nightlight or low-level lighting option, making nighttime trips to the bathroom a genuine trip hazard unless you leave the very bright bathroom lights on. Most disappointing was the mattress, which was exceptionally firm—to us, it felt like sleeping on cardboard. Were it not for the mattress and the nighttime issue with the steps, this easily would have been a five-star stay.

The staff was great even before arrival. There was a transit strike the day of our arrival and I was notified by one of the staff members via message in regard to that and they offered to book us a taxi from the airport to the hotel. That worked out perfectly! They were all very helpful with any questions we had and sight seeing suggestions too. The room was clean and very nice. Beds were comfortable as well. I highly recommend this property for your stay in Amsterdam!
