Gaudí's fantastical architecture transforms the cityscape with the unfinished Sagrada Família and whimsical Park Güell as must-sees. Wander Las Ramblas for street performers and market stalls, then head to Gothic Quarter's narrow lanes where tapas bars beckon after sunset.

Arc la Rambla

Arc la Rambla

10/10 Excellent
"We arrived late and were so tired, the door gets locked at 7pm which is really good, you use your key card to get in-great for security and makes you feel safe. The whole place was spotless, the cleaner came every day and cleaned room, made the bed and changed towels. Great air con in room, definitely needed after a day out in the town! The bed wasn’t the best, but we’ve had much worse, all the linen and towels were so clean, they were like brand new, as was the duvet and pillows were good. We didn’t have breakfast, but did have some hot drinks from the bar on site which weren’t great. We literally used the hotel to sleep in, it was in the best spot, so central to everything, yet really quiet, we were at the back of the hotel in a small double room, but it was fine for us, we did think about upgrading, but there wasn’t any point for what we needed. Would definitely recommend, we probably wouldn’t go back to Barcelona because there’s other places we want to go, but if we did we would stay here. The only negative thing we could say is that the smoke detectors weren’t working, we were told this on arrival, it was too late to do anything about it at this point. Also, we had people arrive next door the day before we left and they were noisy, we complained to reception and it was sorted within minutes."

10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful convenient property with kind, professional staff. We changed our plans last minute and ended up here with no expectations, but even if we’d had high ones, Catalonia Portal del Angel would have exceeded them. Even our inexpensive interior room had a cute view. We dropped off our rental car at Enterprise around the corner from the hotel and a few days later picked up the A1 to the airport at the end of the square. Couldn’t have been easier."

What is the difference between a 4-star and 3-star hotel in Barcelona?
The biggest difference between a 3- and 4-star hotel in Barcelona is the standard of service and access to creature comforts. Three-star hotels are usually more pocket-friendly and include the services and amenities you need to be comfortable, such as breakfast, WiFi and a gym.
