"Friendly staff Very old building ground floor reception is a bit smelly Damp old ? Room is good bath sink shower need a bit of TLC clean redecorate Overall it’s quiet comfortable and has a lot of history no breakfast but plenty to choose from a couple of doors down I would go back "

"The room was clean and comfortable. Some areas looked tired. Paint work chipped in the room. But overall the room was clean and pleasant. We stayed over night in preparation for a wedding the next day. The staff were lovely and friendly. We stayed in the lounge area after a nice meal. Nice atmosphere. Breakfast was good and plenty of selection for breakfast. Really enjoyed the stay. There was plenty of Parking spaces. "

"Good communal area for children and staff were pleasant. However there was a very strong unpleasant smell thoughout the hotel and in the rooms. There was also large stains on the carpet in the hallways which were wet - we assume they had been recently cleaned. Breakfast was ok - however they had ran out off pastries when we attended at 9.30. Overall unlikely to stay again due to cleanliness/smell. "
