"We arrived early and were allowed to check in early as long as we signed up for their Hotel club. Otherwise they hold your luggage until your room is ready at 3pm. The breakfast is a bit pricey at $19 Euros per person per day. They have several restaurants near by that might be a better option. They also have a supermarket around the corner on the Main Street. Albert Hains is the name. For $9 Euros per day you can use the metro, subway or train. Which is a 5min walk from the hotel. I really liked that the hotel offered complimentary coffee and tea. They do have a small laundry on site but you have to pay $10 euros to use it. There is no housekeeping you can ask for clean towels at the reception desk. We were here three days and three times our keys didn’t work and we had to go to the reception area for new keys or reactivating which is aggravating after a long day. Overall a nice hotel and nice stay in Amsterdam. Many attractions near by."

"What a great hotel! Service was good, the hotel inside looks amazing, the rooms are plush and great value. The restaurant and bar are spacious and comfortable. Every is clean and maintained. The location is conveniently very close to a metro station. The only unfortunate thing, there isn’t much else around walking distance. I’d definitely stay again though. "

"We stayed at this location for a week and had a lovely experience. The hotel is near many museums and you can easily walk to the city center and access public transportation. We were given the option of having a room with a view or a room away from the street which would be quieter. We appreciated the option and ended up choosing the view. We could hear cars and people outside sometimes, but it did not bother us, the view of the canal was also beautiful! Overall we would definitely stay at this location again! "

"Easy, safe side-street out front for Uber and taxi drop offs and pick ups. Well designed, efficient small European-sized rooms. Terrific staff and very nice lobby and seating areas. Breakfast buffet was a good value. Focus seemed to be on very well prepared food items, rather than a huge assortment of choices. Just as we prefer. "

"This location was super convenient. Very close to the tram and metro which connects you to almost everything. The only thing is the rooms are super tiny. Too small for 2 people and 2 luggage’s. Otherwise I did love my stay, the stay were very nice and helpful. They have a 24/7 bar/restaurant if you are a late night person. The facility was super clean and overall I enjoyed my stay here. "

"Overall, this was a great property. There was construction going on out front, making it less than appealing, but these things happen. And our room had literally no view (a wall with construction scaffolding). But the room was huge, property is cute, location around has so many restaurant options and great transportation nearby. I'd stay again."

"Spent a lovely 4 nights at The Lancaster. Staff were friendly from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious and bed super comfortable. Bathroom was a little dark but only downside. Staff were able to offer dinner recommendations which were great on both occasions. Tram stop nearby and across the road from the zoo. We walked all over the neighbourhood in all directions and felt very safe. If you walk behind the zoo you are able to see flamingos, elephants, zebras and lions. Was a fun time exploring. Would recommend. "
