"Hoped to use the pool before check in time but was told it was too busy on a very hot day This was because the pool is basically a public lido. It was absolutely packed with people and children. Couldn't get a sun lounger and no towels available. Room very dated furniture and stained carpet. Ordered a pizza, which looked like it had been done in the microwave. Staff unhelpful Definitely not 4 star hotel, more like 1 or 2. Had to pay for parking. Not a relaxing stay at all. Would not recommend"

"An enjoyable stay at Oatlands Park Hotel to celebrate our 55th Wedding Anniversary & also a trip down memory lane as we used to work there many years ago. The staff were friendly & helpful, food excellent (a more efficient toaster machine is needed) but we had some observations to make such as amenities in the bathroom. It is usual to provide sanitary bags, shower caps etc. as standard, these were lacking. We had a Superior double room which provided our needs, a special touch was the bed decoration & congratulations card from Reception which we appreciated. However, we couldn't help noticing filthy windows, cobwebs, flaky paintwork, outside window boxes with dead plants & what were once beautiful grounds seemed in need for some TLC."

"Standard of hotel staff has fallen over the past year or so. Ignored while waiting to check in , staff burst into the room at around 9.35AM On a sunday after one knock. No time to even reach the door. Then didnt leave the room until i turned to look after about 40 seconds. No apology . After the staff left the room there was then continuous banging along the corridor and slamming of doors. Staff talking Loud I dont know whether the staff are students or what. But they havent been trained how to treat all guests with respect. I used to enjoy staying here but now after a few years ive noticed the standards have declined and unfortunately will most likely be the last stay here ."

"The reception staff weren't overly friendly. Also I booked a table at the restaurant months ago for 5pm (I have a little one who normally eats at 4.30pm) to be told the restaurant doesn't even open until 5.30pm and they didn't have my booking. But we did get a table at 5.30. The food was poor, as was the service. The actual hotel room was fine. I thought the bathroom was grubby but it was actually just ring marks and staining in the bathroom. The pillows were way too soft and pushed down flat the second you put your head on them."
