"First class except a mediocre cooked breakfast. Bacon was like rockhard cardboard inedible, powder eggs, no obvious substitute. Sausages were ok though. Coffee machine epically slow Friendly cheerful staff "

"We were visiting family with our new grandson nearby. We have stayed here before a few times and checked in around 10 pm. Staff on reception were very friendly and welcoming. We had lovely clean, warm rooms with an extra double made up. Good nights sleep and lovely breakfast with a few coffees certainly did the trick. I asked a female member of staff for alternate a milk and she happily obliged with Soya for my cereal. The restaurant was busy, but no big waits for food, self service and replenishment on food and drinks very good. Thoroughly recommend the hotel, easy parking and a restaurant next door. 10 out of 10 for our stay with lovely polite staff 👍 a lovely breakfast "

"Check in was a pleasant experience and when I asked if we could have a quiet room we were upgraded to an executive room with fridge. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We’ve stayed here on numerous occasions over the years and I’d say the breakfast wasn’t as good as usual. The dining room is getting shabby and stains on chairs off putting. To be fair a lot of guests were down for breakfast and it wasn’t so easy to choose what you wanted to eat. the food wasn’t being replenished quickly to meet demand, eg I was looking forward to fried eggs but I couldn’t wait as I’d already plated the mushrooms and bacon. I liked the gluten free cornflakes. They’re portion wrapped to fresh. Good choice of breads. We didn’t get croissants as none left at 8.00am. They might have been replenished later. Good choice of items and there are healthy options too. As usual the waiting staff are busy. They have activities to do on their phones and need to discuss with colleagues but they are always friendly when approached. I’d say breakfast is okay overall. The hotel isn’t perfect but there’s nothing that I’d want to complain about and happy to stay again. "

"Great welcome on arrival, quick and efficient check-in, Nice and clean room. Remote for heating control bit tricky. Breakfast what i expected to see, cooked breakfast hot, chef made my bacon crispy. Staff friendly Would stay here again."

"The Whateley Hotel was extremely likeable, with just a few areas where it needs tidying ie re decoration touch up in bedroom and corridors, however workmen were seen painting etc. The bathroom was great with up to date white goods, broken sink plug chain though let it down, however extremely clean. The double bed was large and very comfortable. Good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in room. Lovely view of garden from room 50, well kept garden. We enjoyed a nice meal in the Berkley Restaurant, friendly attentive staff. A very good buffet breakfast, ample choices, the pastries were very hard though. All staff in the hotel were friendly and accommodating. All in all a pleasant and enjoyable stay, and excellent value for money and would definitely stay again."

"Excellent hotel, great room. Close to shopping centre and food options. Only downside is there was an ice dispenser outside of our family room which when used was extremely loud. Not a great location seeing as a family room usually means children or infants sleeping so the ice dispenser wakes everyone up. Perhaps move it to near the lifts?"

"The hotel was ideal for a stay overnight for us following a long flight from South America to Heathrow Airport and was on our route to home. The room was spotlessly clean; the breakfast good and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The only problem we experienced was that the postcode for the hotel would not work in our Sat Nav from the airport."
