Brilliant individual hotel in Antwerp
If you are ok with stairs then this is the place to stay in Antwerp. A quirky old building right in the heart of the city. Eric made us very welcome and gave us great advice about where to visit. The hotel is only a few minutes away from the amazing museum Plantin, which celebrates printing , the early production of books, maps and atlases, the early development of medicine and pharmacy, and as an aside it is full of Ruben's paintings. It is possibly the best museum I have ever visited, unfortunately we only had an hour but we could easily have spent much more time there .

Wonderful little hotel in a quiet street in the city, great room, nice and spacious and super cozy. You can tell they really care about your stay and if you're comfortable, only thing would change is a smoother check-in since we arrived late and there was no one there, although they did allow us to get in awesome breakfast started at eight so we didn't get to enjoy it since we had to leave early.

Lovely historic hotel
Lovely room high amongst the roof tops of Antwerp near the cathedral. Lots of space , well designed. Very friendly management.

Sad times during COVID
Unfortunately during the COVID crisis Antwerp felt a bit sad and lonely, most restaurants were closed and the ones open only allowed take-away. Little to no tourists, while this can come as a great opportunity to take amazing pictures with annoying people on the back, the charm of the city was gloomy. But better days will come!

Great location, very nice common area, pleasant service but room is very small, No elevator and steep staircase. 12 euro for breakfast a bit too much but they offer free tea, coffee and even drinks during your stay.

Nice Hotel, Conveniently located.
This is a nice little hotel on a quiet street in the middle of the old town, and an easy 20 minute walk from the train station. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a nice soaking tub and separate shower. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The only caveat is that there is no elevator. We had the top room at the hotel, so our room was up 3 flights of steps. The staff was more than happy to help with the luggage. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Loved our stay in the hotel for a few days. We had room 3 and it was massive with ensuite bathroom. Really nice and friendly staff and location was great for us. We will be booking again for our next stop at Antwerp

Christmas Market in Antwerp
Very nice boutique hotel in a great central location. Close to the Christmas Markets and great restaurants. Parking available nearby. The room was unique in that the bedroom room and living area was on the second level going up a spiral stairway. Not easy for those that have difficulty with stairs but for us it was very nice to have the two areas separated. Breakfast was simple but good enough for us. Very typical breads, meat, cheeses and boiled eggs. Overall a very enjoyable stay for two nights.

Boutique hotel well located
Very well located small boutique hotel right in the centre of the old town. I was upgraded to a very large and comfortable room (room 3) with huge bathroom. However, being an old building I could hear every footstep of people in the room above. A continentAl breakfast was available at an extra charge, but was very basic.

Hotel with great location but...
Hotel matelote is centrally locate din Antwerp and has an impressive look from outside. The people at reception is warm and gentle; therefore the hotel conditions do not correspond to expectations. Breakfast lacks taste and variety (for its price) and not enough tables for the guests - and this happens despite you have to register to breakfast the day before. The room I was assigned was tiny and smelling paint that gave me a headache (and this I could only realize once coming back to sleep). The bathroom location was very odd and without place to hang your belongings. Wardrobe had not enough place for hangers and it was filled with a small refrigerator. To finalize, the access to the room was through a spiral staircase that a medium luggage wouldn't fit (fortunately I was there for one single night and had a small one). To close my comments, the staff was not helpful indicating you the nearest parking place (as the hotel does not have one - and this is not indicated at their site).

Nice hotel excellent location
Very charming hotel, excellent location. People should know that there are no elevators, I ended up carrying both my bag, and my wife's two floors up... They offer no slippers either... But I would still strongly recommend it for other travelers

Great location
This hotel is right in the center of Antwerp. It has a very cool look inside and the beds are very comfortable. The entrance is quite small and you have to ring a bell to the left of the door for the reception to buzz you in. There is no elevator, but overall it was a really good stay and I would recommend it.

convenient hotel in quiet street in centre
Tiny hotel run with minimum staff - so no one around to ask for various needs, like soap when the room cleaner had forgotten to supply it. Need to sign up for breakfast by 6 pm the previous day - somewhat invconvenient. Perfectly functional and clean. Stylish if your taste is for rooms based n Alcatraz or filing cabinet grey - we found it a little depressing to be in our grey grey room.

Excellent stay here. Friendly helpfull staff, super location. Priced very well. Really enjoyed this hotel. We stayed in the superior suite which was a really nice room and great value. Situated right in the centre but somehow in a quite location. Excellent.

Great location & hotel
Great location in old town - the cathedral is a 2 minute walk. Stayed in Superior Suite - room on two levels and an incredible amount of space for the money. Rooms were clean - bed was comfortable and as an added bonus there was a small private roof top deck! Will be staying there on my return!!

Modern boutique hotel
Fresh, modern, boutique feel to this hotel. Couldn't have wished for a better location in Antwerp - within easy walking distance of all of the main sights. Room was spacious and clean with complimentary bottles of water. Staff were kind, friendly and accommodating.

Antwerp is delightful. And I don't have much to complain about this hotel. It's modern, affordable, convinenient and located in a desirable area. Easy access from/ to the Central Station. Good bed but pillows need replacing. The lobby is lovely. The hotel is quiet during the day but can get really noisy at night, depending on the room you get. I would definitely stay here again when I revisit Antwerp.

A good location and friendly hotel, however we were waiting outside for 5 minutes before being let in, we arrived about 8pm and it's not clear on the door which buzzer to press to get in, a sticker would be very useful! I was in the top room so very spacious and the lady helped me with my luggage as a few flights to climb! There was a leak in the entrance way with a jig on the floor, and breakfast was ok, just the basics. But a great location for sightseeing in the centre.
