"We've just got back from a 3 week stay at Villa Sugar and enjoyed every moment. The views are outstanding. The villa is 200m above sea level with olive groves and fruit trees dropping away from the villa, backdropped by mountains on one side and the sea on the other. The villa is west facing so you watch the sun set over the mountains. Even more special when watching from the infinity pool!The villa is clean and has everything you need, including lots of games, books and things to keep the whole family occupied. The table football and table tennis were a particular success for us! The pool is very clean and a great place to relax and play some water games. The villa has air conditioning in every bedroom and underfloor cooling throughout that was a welcome relief at night. The three bathrooms are nicely kitted out, the two shower cubicles were small but functional. There is a well equipped kitchen with lots of utensils, plates and cutlery.Andreas, the owner, was a real superstar. Very helpful and quick to fix any minor issues that arose. He pops round every 4 days (bringing homemade cakes) when they do the cleaning. He respects your privacy at all times and will tell you when he's coming round and never enters the property without being invited in.A car is essential if you want to get about. There's a well stocked supermarket 100m away and there's good tavernas in the village but the beach is great and there's lot to see in Rethymno (15km away) and across the island."

"La villa correspond en tout point à ce qui est indiqué dans l'annonce. Mrs GABY très disponible et agréable. Le calme, une vue magnifique, peut être un wifi unplus performant. Mais ce n'est qu'un détail. Bref de merveilleuses vacances dans cette charmante villa."

"Pros: Overall we had a lovely stay in Crete and the villa. The villa was stylish and clean, with comfortable beds and good showers. We had gifts left which were appreciated and included some biscuits from a local bakery which we enjoyed visiting a number of times. It was easy to contact people to resolve minor issues. Cons: The pool was disappointing. The lining was discoloured. It was very cold and we were only able to use it in the afternoon when it warmed up, and whilst in direct sun. The sea was much warmer. It also collected leaves, mud and debris very quickly, so overall not an enjoyable experience. Also the description is wrong, it is not 1.6m deep. My 10 year old could easily stand up and is closer to 1.2-1.3m max. A pool cover would be a very valuable addition. We had a clean and linen change during our 2 week stay, but not every 4 days like the description said.It would have been helpful to have a villa handbook or information provided about the villa and local area. Overall an enjoyable stay and lovely villa but we were disappointed by the pool and therefore didn’t use it as much as we would have liked."
Superb villa with panoramic sea and mountain views with infinity pool

"A really special villa- in the most beautiful spot. We all really appreciated the peace and the views - so many wonderful outdoor spaces to sit and relax, surrounded by the hills and mountains with a glorious view to the sea. A very easy 10 minute drive to good supermarkets and tavernas and also the excellent Maria’s taverna a 3 min drive away. Communication with host and Gaby was great - quick responses and Gaby was very helpful. We cannot fault the accommodation and pool - all clean and spacious and well equipped and laid out. Would definitely return."
Charming cottage with a unique view

"My family's stay at the cottage was wonderful. The home was spacious, clean and mostly comfortable (although the beds were a little bit too firm for my family). The mountain and sea views were fantastic! Herbert was a kind and gracious host and was always available in case we had any concerns. He was delightful to talk to and he has a wealth of knowledge about the area. Although we were on a pre-planned schedule, he was always willing to offer a tour of surrounding areas. All in all, the stay was marvelous and we'd recommend staying there to anyone spending their holiday on Crete!"
