Property tired which is why it’s closing Feb 25 for upgrade. However staff, faculties are excellent and having stayed years ago we knew where we wanted to go. Look forward to returning when reopening.

Stayed there only because close to airport - one night Needs urgent renovation from the parking lot to the rooms to the pool and outdoor areas. Industrial buffet food.

The bed was rock solid and a very small single bed. The view was great from the 12th floor but the hotel definitely needs a big refurbishment. The furniture in the rooms are very dated and holes in the wall and marks everywhere. It’s the type of the hotel you book for “ cheap and cheerful” the location was ideal either such a quiet area.

Good for the price

Very reasonably priced hotel in a great location near to bars, restaurants, shops and beach. The room was tiny and balcony super small, but clean and adequate. Lack of air conditioning made sleeping very difficult as the room was so hot. Also there was no fridge in the room. We were B&B guests and had lots of selection at breakfast. Pool area was good with plenty of sunbeds. Overall was a great hotel for what we paid.

Hotel is old and dated. Not all rooms have a/c or fridge or kettle. This was not clear on booking or checkin. Not enough parasols around pool and on sun deck. Breakfast was very good. Always plenty of choice and loads of fresh fruit.

Not a great hotel to stay.

We were very disappointed with the condition of the hotel. It's dated and in need of major renovation. The hotel does not have AC which is made the stay very uncomfortable regardless, spending time in room, reception area or their restaurant. The room pictures are deceiving on hotels.com as the furniture and bathroom was nothing like it. On the flip side, most staff were friendly and the hotel was centrally located to amenities.

Good location and view, but older hotel.

This place lacks customer service. Definitely a basic quality hotel. I was checked in and given an occupied room! Great balcony view! Although the height of the chair made it a bit obstructed. The bed is not comfortable! However as a solo traveler I could use one of the blankets for more softness. The air condition blows directly at the bed, which is not good. Water pressure good and there was a bathtub, yay! The breakfast had variety but it is not quality food! There are markets close by for food but no fridge in the rooms!! It is in a good location for tour bus pickup.

I should have taken heed of other 1 star ratings for this hotel. When I was checking in I was told by quite a rude lady that their system did not have the correct ages of my teenage children but instead they had set out the room with 2 cots for 1year olds and that I would have to pay for the difference or just sort it out. I contacted my provider, Hotels.com who were extremely helpful and after much follow up from my Hotels.com agent the issue was resolved but it was not the kind of stress I needed during a holiday. Apart from this ordeal it may have got a 3 star overall rating from me because the breakfast is reasonable, location good, entertainment OK, pool OK and quite clean. It is however very dated, possibly 1970s or early 80s fittings throughout. For example there was only one plug socket which was used for the TV in the main living area.

The Sol Arona was good for the purpose a one night stay over before the flight home. The hotel is very tired actually it's closing down in 3 weeks for a one-year refurbishment.

Great hotel, abundant breakfast. The mattress was quite hard, but okay. We were only there for one night and didn’t have time to use all the facilities in the hotel. I’d recommend this hotel.
