The B & B was EXTREMELY difficult to find after dark. VERY poorly lit and signed.
Inside, the shower hadn't been cleaned and was swilled out by the owner when she showed me around. There was no chair or wall hooks in the bathroom for clothing when one was having a shower (leaving the floor or toilet as the only option to place clothing - far from ideal). The toilet seat was not properly affixed to the toilet and slid sideways (disgusting). The room was dingy, with one lonely print of Audrey Hepburn on the wall; elsewhere the empty walls showed signs of scuffing and nail holes. It was also cold, with no visible way to increase the heat.
1st Morning: The breakfast room was in darkness when I arrived although I was there at the agreed-upon time. After 10 minutes, the hostess showed up and told me she'd decided to serve me breakfast in her own dining room and apologized for not telling me or finding me sooner. The breakfast fortunately, was excellent - although as a cooked breakfast, it cost me an extra 5 pounds.
2nd Night: The outside lights weren't turned on, so on my return from dinner in an area pub, I had to keep my car lights on so I could see where to unlock the front door.
On the plus side, the 5 pound breakfast was excellent, and the hostess is nice - if harried - but her attention to detail is seriously lacking. Compared to everywhere else I stayed, this was an experience I would not care to repeat, or can recommend to anyone else.
MUCH improvement is needed.
