Great old pub with converted barn for rooms.Lovely food with good choice and quality. Friendly and attentive staff. Part of beer garden is being developed at present but didnt detract from the stay.

Lovely place to stay, not too far from the the park and ride into Oxford. Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Fantastic food. Highly recommend it here.

Beautiful location hosting an historic building. An absolute bargain at £80. Breakfast was fantastic with a beautiful, clean & inviting atmosphere. Young gent behind the bar gave me an excellent reception and the young waiter was brilliant.

Staff were lovely - so friendly and helpful. Thank you Molly who was there for check in, dinner, breakfast and check out (as well as the other amazing staff). Beautiful room and lovely location. We enjoyed the food too.

Excellent place to stay near Oxford. Lovely and quiet surroundings. A quintessential english pub. Beer really good from local brewery. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice.

The room was spacious and perfect as a family room that accommodated 2 adults, a baby and a toddler. Breakfast was delicious and staff were kind and went an extra mile to help with the needs of our little ones. Will definitely recommend for anyone looking for a spacious family room

Good overnight stop
Gorgeous old thatched pub, reception at the bar. Self contained room in adjacent barn. Few problems getting the heating going but eventually ok. Food excellent, service great. The young people running the show couldn’t do enough for you.

Great place with amazing food!!
What can we say! We had an amazing overnight stay here last weekend. Sophie, Ben, Eleana and the rest of Craig’s crew made us feel so welcome and the food cooked by the new chefs was absolutely outstanding. We will definitely be returning next time we want to visit either Bicester Village or Oxford as it’s a great location midway between the two.

This is a splendid little gastro pub with modest but perfectly adequate accommodation. The staff were all Very friendly and helpful. Recommended.

A Very Relaxing 2 Night Stay
Lovely stay at The Clifden. Clean, comfortable room. The breakfast was superb with a super sized full English. Evening meals were fantastic too. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and attentive. Would definately stay again.

We stayed in 'Magnolia'. It was clean, well appointed and cosy. The breakfasts were excellent and we had a lovely evening meal at the Inn. Staff were friendly and helpful. Perhaps the TV could be bigger (only 22 inch) but other wise everything was perfect.

Clifden Arms
Lovely thatched pub, staff friendly, room clean and basic just right for our short stay. Breakfasts where good and well presented, unfortunately the pub restaurant is not open for food Monday and Tuesday's so we could not eat at the Clifden Arms which was a shame. Perhaps this should be noted on your summery of this pub.

Great location, services didn’t quite live up
Lovely location, no dinner service on a day I stayed which was a shame. Room was very clean but warm due to the hot weather, could hire a fan for a deposit. Service was let down when looking forward to a cooked breakfast which was included in the room rate. To be told the chef hasn’t turned up. Weetabix were 2 weeks past best before. Just before leaving was told chef had turned up which was a Kim in the teeth as I had no more time. also no offer for a reduction. overall good but let down.

Little Gem so glad we found it
We stayed in Dragon Fly A lovely large room comfortable bed and good sized en suite . The rooms were very clean The breakfast was really good with a friendly service

Incredibly enjoyable weekend visit
Quite possibly our best weekend hotel visit this year. From the moment we stepped into the Clifden Arms we immediately felt at home. From there, it got better and better because the room was absolutely spotless with superb attention to detail and incredibly well thought out. The brand new shower was so amazing I had 3 hot showers in 24 hours. Perhaps the best accolade is the evening dinner and we can utterly recommend the Goats Cheese Tart and Chorizo Nibbles. Washed down with a few pints of London Pride or even better the local Clifden Ale. In summary, an incredibly enjoyable weekend visit and we fully recommend it.
