Perfect to explore the Peak District
The cottage is completely outfitted with everything needed for a short or long stay, is a few short minutes walk from any spot in Bakewell and a few minutes drive from everywhere in the Peak District. Out long stay was comfortable and we never lacked for anything to make the cottage our home away from home for the holiday.

Perfect Spot
This is a very old cottage in a very peaceful area of Bakewell but a short stroll to amenities. The place is immaculately clean and well equipped. The sitting out area is well maintained. It was very mixed weather but we were cozy and warm.

Very central to Bakewell yet in quiet location. Only limiting factor was the steep stairs especially when coming down. Nice garden area for sitting

Very enjoyable stay.
A pleasant comfortable cottage that had all we needed for a short stay. Well appointed kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bed, (though we would have liked an extra pillow each). The dedicated parking opposite the cottage is tricky, and backing the car up to the spot needs care. We got the hang of it after 3 nights! A peaceful location with several blackbirds singing a welcome.

Brilliant Bakewell break
Great 5 night break for the wife and myself. Lovely, quaint little cottage, with everything you could need. Perfectly sited for the town (few minutes) and the whole Peak District. Liz the owner, was very warm and accommodating. Parking could be a little challenging for some; our Ateca or smaller would be fine... there's a method. Highly recommend this property.

Cozy Cottage in Perfect Peak town
The cottage is superbly maintained with a fully stocked kitchen. So convenient to the shops and markets of Bakewell. Even if one is relying on public transportation, walks and other Peak villages are easy to access. Chatsworth can be visited easily by car, bus, or even walking (a more challenging walk.) The cottage is comfortable, with a patio at which one can enjoy tea, or a meal. Liz even had a box of chocolates to welcome. The cottage is tastefully decorated and has a “fresh” feel. I would definitely stay again on returning to the area.

Excellent Stay
Nice cottage, which was just right for the two of us. The property was found to be very clean and having all required amenities. The cottage is ideally located in a quiet cul-de-sac but only a few minutes walk to the town. Parking is a little tight but manageable driving my Mazda6 car, using advice from Liz the Host. You develop a bit of a knack over the week! Bakewell is a very nice town and ideally situated for visiting the the surrounding area. Thank you for the complimentary box of chocolates! We would be happy to stay again! Tim & Sue

Christmas at Bakewell
A delightful little cottage, prettily decorated for Christmas. We enjoyed how close we were to the bustling town centre, but in a very peaceful little corner. The instructions for getting the keys from the keysafe could be clearer. It's a shame about the rather awkward parking bays. The low walls are surely unnecessary and only lead to problems for everybody. We also found the very steep stairs quite challenging. Liz was very helpful and happy to be contacted.

Really lovely stay
This cottage was spotlessly cleaned and prepared for our arrival. Thank you! We purchased logs and kindling from the local Aldi and were extremely cosy during the bad weather using the log burner. The only issue we had was parking a second car in Bakewell. There didn't seem to be any on street parking without restrictions so you have to utilise local car parks. It is a gorgeous area and well worth the visit.

Lovely cottage! Right in the middle of Bakewell which had enough pubs and restaurants to keep us entertained. The owner advises reversing up the drive to park, please take heed as it’s virtually impossible to go in forwards… recommend the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room for great beer and pizza; Devil’s Arse Cave Tour and the Matlock Bath Mining Museum. Lovely six nights away thank you!

Property had everything we needed and was in a great location. A very short walk to the centre of Bakewell and also handy for us getting out and about in the car to go walking. . So peaceful at night and the bed was really comfortable. We slept like logs. The property itself was beautifully decorated and very clean and tidy. We have taken a couple of cards to pass to friends and would definitely recommend.

Little gem in The Peak District.
What a lovely cottage in a lovely town in a lovely area. Cottage was clean, decorated and furnished to a high standard, well equipped perfectly situated to enjoy Bakewell and explore The Peak District. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Personal highlights were Bakewell itself - enjoying the cafés and restaurants (Rajas Indian is a must - lovely food) , ice cream by the river etc., Chatsworth House - a very nice walk from Bakewell through the village of Edensor (approx 2 hours), Monsal Trail - a lovely 3 hour+ bike ride, get a bike lock so you can leave bikes and walk up to Monsal Head - great views of the viaduct and valley, Stanage Edge - spectacular walk, and many more lovely villages to see and walks to do. Would definitely recommend this property and will return. Many thanks.

Beautiful little gem of a place in Bakewell
We had a last minute booking to Peveril cottage just to have a break with our two small boys and the main attraction going to Chatsworth for the farm yard. The cottage was lovely, comfortable and clean with the best DVD collection I’ve ever seen !. Nice little touch from Liz the owner by leaving the chocolates that were not there long at all!. I’ve already said we will return here if possible for the Chatsworth Xmas markets It’s ideal and the couple of minutes walk into Bakewell made the location spot on. Thank you so much .

Excellent cottage in the heart of Bakewell
This cottage is a beautiful find in the heart of Bakewell - excellently located and well equipped. Stayed as two adults for a long weekend and then solo for the rest of the week and it was the perfect size - the weather meant we couldn't make use of the outside space but it felt private and quiet despite being so close to the centre of town. Would definitely stay again!

Thank you for your feedback and I am pleased you had a nice stay. I am sorry that you didn't find the cottage up to your own standards of cleanliness. I have rented the cottage to guests for over 8 years and none have ever raised a negative comment regarding cleanliness. Indeed I do get many repeat bookings. Just to reassure you that over the last year we have adopted a more in-depth cleaning regime given the COVID situation. I do hope you enjoyed the good weather and the lovely outdoor space the cottage provides, especially being so close to Bakewell centre. Also the flowers and chocolates we left for your stay. I do hope you will be able to visit again.
