You have a coastal walk of Strangford Lough, an amazing Castle, all the village amenities and great pubs, with the Dufferin Arms providing that that fantastic Irish atmosphere and experience (stones throw from Driftwood. "We had problems finding the property - the phone satnav directed us to Ballynahinch Water Treatment Works, but the host responded quickly to our email by phone, and gave us better directions. She left a light on at the property, and the key in the door.Gardeners Cottage exudes charm and character...and will be lovely in the summer. The underfloor heating is insufficient. Upon arrival, the overpowering smell of bleach was hard to stand. The place was cold and damp, and the plug in radiator had made little impression. Sadly, there was mould on the walls, in the bathroom and kitchen cupboards. Cobwebs and dirt were in evidence. Maintenance is required to replace the broken skylight, repaint the windows and see to the electrics. What was obviously set up as a pleasant space requires some TLC. The cold tap in the bathroom is not attached to the sink. The kettle leaked through the switch, so we used the microwave to heat water for drinks. The WiFi was paused before 10pm, which made research online difficult. There was no welcome pack, and no interaction with the hosts. Another easy chair would be good in the bedroom. The supermarket in Saintfield was wonderful."

"The cottage was a perfect place for our group of four long time friends to have a relaxing place to stay. The cottage and grounds were so beautiful. Much love and work has gone into making this place so pleasant. Richard and Rosemary were amazing hosts. From being there to greet us (with fresh baked bread), answering any questions and providing recommendations for our visit, they truly did everything to make our visit wonderful and memorable. "

"We had a great time at the stable! The property was beautiful, clean and close to Belfast. Robena was an amazing and thoughtful hostess. She also communicated well throughout the process-from initial booking, to a week before and then about the check in process. She made us homemade goodies and left other treats for us, something we appreciated as we had not had dinner yet when we checked in! We would totally recommend this property as well as Robena being an amazing hostess!! Would definitely stay again if we were in the area again. "

"A lovely property in a great peaceful location with spectacular views across the lough. We did lots of activities: paddle boarding, scuba, trips to the beach, horse riding and the Game of Thrones studio tour. The property was perfect for all of this. Dog friendly as well. "
