Top Beesands Beach Hotel Reviews
Gara Rock

11 At The Beach, Torcross - an apartment that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
8/10 Good
"We stayed in probably the hottest weeks of the year so we could have been abroad! The apartment overlooks the sea from every window and both bedrooms and the lounge area have Juliette balconies which you can sit at. We did think that if we stayed again, we might try the apartment below (no 6) as it seems to be the same layout and contents but had a balcony to sit out on. It would just be overlooked by the other apartments. The washing machine was a hit so we went home with everything clean - no holiday washing! Out the back there is a large area to sit out on with garden furniture and no.11 has the advantage that no other holidaymakers need to pass by the apartment, so very secluded. There is partial sea-view and it is still sunny when the beach starts to get shaded from the sun. Torcross is very small and unfortunately was hit by storms earlier in the year so many seafront properties were boarded up. It didn’t affect our stay at all but sad to see and hopefully repairs can get sorted soon. There is pub that serves great food and a little cafe in between. We didn’t see a shop but Chillington is a short drive away for basics and a big Tesco and Asda are not too far away. The beach is narrow and shingly so the water is clear. Beach shoes worth getting! There was a lifeguard there most days. There is a seal that swims by most days and is a bit of a celebrity! We saw 2 one day so not sure if he had brought a mate or they were 2 different ones! Overall we had a fantastic stay. To echo another review I’d read though, it would have been better to have a shower in both bathrooms. That was the biggest negative for 4 of us staying there. Also, the shower is static above you so if you don’t want to wash your hair, it is a pain. The cubicle is very small so hard to avoid the spray and without any shelving in there, you have to keep bending down to pick up toiletries, again making it hard not to get your hair wet! As there were 3 of us with long hair staying, this was a nuisance. The pressure was also quite feeble so when we did want to wash our hair, it took ages to rinse out! Other than that, everything was great and we would definitely recommend!"
Chillington House
10/10 Excellent
"Stayed in room number two with garden access it was perfect.Breakfast was great with very good choices.Parking was available for all guests."
Beachfront Bliss, Sea Views, Parking, Dogs Welcome
10/10 Excellent
"Extremely well maintained and well appointed apartment. We had one small issue with the doors which was rectified very quickly. Loved that there were plenty of mugs, glasses , plates etc as well as cooking equipment. I always think two dishwasher tablets is unnecessarily mean when its quite an expensive holiday but thats a small gripe!"
3 At The Beach, Torcross - Family friendly, Sea View, Parking
10/10 Excellent
"As always we had a fabulous holiday in 3 at the beach, everything as usual was great but this year we had a few niggles, that we passed on and hope that when we return later this year there will be a new washing machine, new lock on bathroom door and a new kitchen tap. All in all we love the place and god willing will visit many more times."
Heart of Torcross - Log burner - Ley views
10/10 Excellent
"Super-well equipped and beautifully renovated. The owner has thought of everything so immediately felt like home and perfect for our stay with the extended family. The two front rooms in particular have lovely sunrise views over Slapton Ley. The kitchen setup is outstanding with good quality accesories ... about the only thing missing is an ice cream maker :)."
The Penthouse, 16 At The Beach, Wi-Fi, Sea View
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic property and great communication from the host. Location is great, pub and cafe within a couple of minutes walk and allocated parking makes life very easy as so close to property. Would definitely recommend."
10 At The Beach - Footsteps to the beach, pets welcome, parking
10/10 Excellent
"We loved our stay at 10 At The Beach and didn’t want to leave at the end of our vacation. Lovely views of the sea and lake from the lounge bay window. Good pub , farm shop and cafe very close by. Comfortable beds. Plenty of crockery, cutlery etc. I had a couple of negatives: it was very hot weather and you could do with a fan in each bedroom. The fridge is small and there is no cupboard space to store any provisions you may bring with you, internet isn’t great but better on the beach! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend."
Swan's Nest - River view, Close to beach, Garden
10/10 Excellent
"Swan’s Nest is really well-designed with the big lounge-kitchen-diner upstairs to get the very best out of the stunning views over Slapton Ley. Another great benefit of this layout is that the bedroom stays cool, even in this year’s heat-wave conditions! The property is beautifully kept, clean and well-equipped. Our host checked in with us via WhatsApp at the start and end of our stay with very friendly and helpful advice.I would definitely recommend staying here."
