Great Experience

We had a great time, there were two couples so each had a floor to ourselves. The living space and kitchen are on the ground level and very well appointed. Good location to explore Dordogne sites. Weather was too cold to use the pool but it was very impressive. Overall, a great find. Mike

Beautiful rural farmhouse

We spent a very relaxing week at Kevin and Judith's lovely farmhouse. The house is very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. It has been beautifully restored to a modern standard but still retains its original charm. The pool is fantastic and it is a real treat to sit beside it with a glass of wine from the pool bar as the sun goes down. It was great to have Kevin and Judith on hand if we needed anything or had any questions about the area. A great find!

Great house, wonderful vacation!

3 generations (from 7 to 83) came to La Chauvarie and everyone had a wonderful stay (2 weeks+).There is plenty of space for everybody. The house is very well equipped and furnished. Beds are comfortable. The owners have clearly thought through everything to make your stay enjoyable. Property is in great shape and has excellent outdoor living space. Pool is super nice. Judith and Judith were such kind people, they were very helpful with everything during our stay there. Thank you so much! We only wish we could have stayed a little longer but we will be back!

Beautiful rural holiday home

This is a fantastic place to stay for a family holiday. Superbly equipped, spacious and comfortable house with beautiful gardens and a stunning pool. We have rented many holiday homes but this is undoubtedly the best equipped both indoors and outdoors. The pool area offers plenty of sun loungers and a shady eating area which we used every day. We loved sitting outside in the evenings to eat dinner and made good use of the barbecue. Judith and Kevin were wonderful hosts, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We made good use of the local market at Bretenoux to buy produce and enjoyed some excellent lunches and dinners at local restaurants. For a relaxed holiday in beautiful surroundings with the option of interesting places to visit and bird watching on your door step this is definitely the place to choose. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic spacious family home

We stayed with my family in July this year and could not have asked for a more perfect holiday home to relax in. The house has so much space, with a wonderfully cool kitchen and living area to escape any midday heat, gorgeous patio and a lovely garden. The pool is wonderful, with everything you need -sun loungers, a hammock, a fridge and seating/dining area which we used for lunch each day. It's perfectly set up for those with children (baby gates etc) but works equally well for a group of friends - there are two living rooms and everyone can have their own space. The hosts, Judith and Kevin, are lovely, friendly people and nearby if you need them. There is so much to do in the area and information about markets and the local area is provided at the house. We definitely plan to be back as soon as we can to soak up the quiet rural bliss and relax by the gorgeous pool!

Much enjoyed this lovely property.

Exterior photos of the house need to be made current, it's not quite so nice nor well maintained. The barn/games room is a store for building materials. The house is comfortable and clean, however the four large pantry shelves are totally filled with appliances and stuff so that there is no room for eight peoples food; the kitchen drawers are full with stuff too. As my wife and daughter commented "this house needs editing". I'm aware that tastes differ but there is an awful lot of stuff impacting on important functional space. The patio space for evening dining is lovely. The pool area is super, the gazebo a vital amenity for the fair skinned. Everyone in our party enjoyed staying here.

Beautiful house in a stunning area

As everyone else has said, it really is a perfect holiday let. The house and grounds are spacious and gorgeous, the pool is big and everything is set up with real attention to detail. We were 2 families, 4 adults & 3 children, and the house met and surpassed all our needs: brilliantly appointed kitchen (not just a pan big enough to cook pasta for everyone, which is so often annoyingly missing, but really anything you might want, from ice cream machine to tagine), plenty of room, a choice of outside dining areas, bikes, table tennis, swings etc. Judith and Kevin really make you feel welcome and are on hand when you need them but give you your space otherwise. The area is stunning, beautiful villages, canoeing on the Dordogne, neolithic cave paintings if you drive a little further. We had a fabulous holiday and I would 100% recommend the house to anyone. Thank you Judith and Kevin and good luck in the future.

Peace and tranquility in a wonderful setting

Jude and Kevin, apologies for the delay in my review. My excuse is that I was thinking about what superlatives to use! A fabulous property and location enhanced by the welcome received from you both. The property has clearly been painstakingly restored with much love and attention to detail. The quality of each bedroom is fabulous and very tastefully decorated and the relaxing areas are all that you would wish for. In addition, the kitchen is stocked with everything that you could possibly require. One could easily spend one's whole break here lounging in and around the excellent pool, other than to venture into the nearby village for your provisions, but this would be to miss out on what the local area has to offer. Bikes are also provided and it was a pleasure to accompany Kevin on a ride through the local peaceful country lanes, of which there are many. Brilliant property and location and wonderful hosts. Wonderful family holiday

We were a family of eight - four children aged 8, 6, 4 and 20 months with their parents and grandparents. We stayed at the house during a very hot week in August. The accommodation was lovely. The top floor did become very hot, but fans were provided which alleviated this to some extent. We all made good use of the swimming pool, which was large enough for the children to practise their strokes. We also enjoyed using the piano. There were quite a few lovely ornaments and pieces of crockery which were vulnerable to the grasp of our toddler, but we put most of these out of reach and the rest behind a locked door. In August, there were armies of fierce mosquitoes around the garden, so please be sure to take plenty of insect repellent! Kevin and Judith were wonderful hosts. They were extremely helpful, providing stair gates for our toddler, but also very discreet, leaving us to enjoy the house, pool and garden without restriction. Thank you both for a truly wonderful week. James, Fiona and family.

Poultneys in the Dordogne

A really well equipped and homely house with everything we needed. Kevin and Judith were ready to help at any time, and otherwise left us to our own devices. When there was a power cut after a storm Kevin kept us in touch with what was happening which was helpful. Such a beautiful location, and a great place for relaxing.

Super maison

Un havre de paix décoré avec goût et parfaitement équipé

Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable chez Kevin et Judith. Leur gîte est décoré avec goût et est équipé comme je n'ai encore jamais vu. La cuisine regorge d'équipements de cuisine, vous pourrez tout faire. Les hôtes dont formidables, gentils et attentionnés et extrêmement discret. Nous avons passé 4 jours en nous sentant en sécurité, autonomes et indépendants. Nous recommandons absolument cette propriété incroyable. Super séjour en Dordogne

Maison charmante et fonctionnelle au coeur d'un écrin de verdure

Nous avons séjourné en famille élargie (5 adultes et 4 enfants entre 1 et 7 ans) dans la maison de Kevin et Judith. La maison est très confortable, cosy même. On sent qu'elle a une âme (l'Angleterre n'est jamais très loin!), mais rien de superflu et on s'y sent immédiatement comme chez soi. Elle nous a été confiée un état de propreté impeccable. La cuisine est fonctionnelle et parfaitement équipée, il ne manque rien. Les chambres sont spacieuses, décorées avec style et bien meublées, chaque étage a sa salle de bain / d'eau. Le jardin est très agréable, dense et bien entretenu, il offre plusieurs espaces pour le jeu ou la détente. Le coin piscine est parfait. Bien sécurisé car séparé de la maison par une porte avec verrou, il est équipé de plusieurs transats, d'une table de ping pong, d'un hamac, parfait pour des après-midis enjoués et rafraîchissants ! Enfin, les propriétaires Kevin et Judith (et leurs enfants quand nous étions là) se sont montrés à la fois extrêmement discrets (on peut passer la semaine sans les croiser bien qu'ils habitent à quelques mètres) et totalement disponibles à la moindre de nos requêtes (fournir un lit bébé à 22h, sécuriser les escaliers avec barrières enfants, proposer des idées d'excursions dans la région, des itinéraires de course à pied, ou tout simplement bavarder en anglais ou en français !). Nous recommandons donc sans aucune réserve cette location qui comblera les petits et les grands !

Prachtig huis nabij Rocamadour, Sarlat en Padirac

We hebben een week in dit heerlijke huis doorgebracht met 2 families. Het huis is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien, met een zeer goed uitgeruste keuken. Het zoutwater zwembad is geweldig. In de omgeving is veel te zien en te doen. De gastvrije eigenaren zijn vlakbij als je iets nodig hebt of iets wilt weten, maar verder zie je ze niet. We hebben een geweldige week gehad!

Un confort et un charme incroyables !

Nous avons debuté nos vacances de la meilleure des façons dans cette très jolie maison, aménagée avec beaucoup de goût par Kevin et Judith, des hôtes formidables au sens de l'accueil hors du commun (ce qui est rare en location) . Tout était à disposition pour que nous passions des vacances sans souci : cuisine très bien équipée et conviviale (c'est un euphémisme !), une litterie excellente, une grande piscine impeccable, un très beau et reposant jardin, des attentions dans le frigo a notre arrivée :-) et de très bons conseils pour les activités alentours. Bref, on aurait aimé rester longtemps à Bilhac ! Calme absolu, cadre verdoyant, région magnifique... le paradis entre Corrèze et Lot.

Un petit coin de paradis

Un magnifique séjour nous ayant permis d’apprécier les lieux. Nos hôtes furent d’une gentillesse et bienveillance pour nous permettre ce séjour. La verdure et la campagne font de cet endroit un endroit où le repos est de mise.

Accueil chaleureux, maison très bien équipée

Excellent lieu de villégiature, localisation idéale pour profiter de cette région. La maison possède tout le confort et le matériel nécessaire pour y séjourner nombreux, y compris avec des enfants de tout age. Couple très serviable, disponible et agréable.

Magnifique séjour dans une maison de rêve

La maison est très belle et parfaitement équipée en particulier pour les amateurs de cuisine. Le jardin et la piscine sont merveilleux et les hôtes charmants, à la fois discrets et toujours prêts à donner des conseils utiles sur la région qui est superbe. Un paradis pour les enfants et les plus grands.
