First of all, we had to go to the hotel next door to get our keys. When you go in and out of the hotel you have to be buzzed in by someone in another building. Our room was in a dark corner down some stairs on the main floor. Made getting in and out of the room quite tricky, especially at night when you couldn't see to unlock the door. The beds were super small and not very comfortable. There were lady bugs all over the room. The hotel is on a very busy street and it was very loud. Not many dinning places are within walking distance. Quite frankly, I was very disappointed with my experience and I would never stay here again.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, the facilities were good. The room had an amazing shower, the beds were comfy and there was a fridge. The surrounding neibourhood was ok and there was a few cracks in the paintwork.
The staff was extremely helpful and I will stay here again next time we are in Birmingham. On a side note, the restaurant has outstanding food....really delicious.

Convenient
Needing a last minute overnight stop, close to nearby family, the Cavalier House Hotel fitted the bill. It is, it seems, an annexe to the Edgbaston Palace Hotel next door, where one has to book in/out, which was slightly confusing and felt a little remote. As a lone, older woman, this didn't make me feel totally secure. As there was scaffolding outside I assume the Cavalier is undergoing some renovation - indeed, although my room was pleasant, comfortable and overlooking a nice wooded garden at the rear, was in need of a little TLC; a stained carpet, broken door on bedside table and an eaves door that rattled badly if the window was opened.
On the positive side, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Working week in Birmingham
enjoyed my stay in a twin room that was in good order with new fittings, quiet and overlooking gardens. Very convenient for buses into town and running to Edgbaston reservoir.
Unusual with the hotel being an annexe that was unmanned as you need to go next door to a partner hotel for booking in & meals etc
Used sanitary towels left in bathroom ..footprints left in carpet with dust carpets grubby and stained . Scaffolding around building with walkways at window level making easy access to bedrooms from outside
cheap and comfortable hotel which is an annex to the edbasion palace hotel next door.

Very nice and clean but no bath. Great location if you want to be near the center but not in the center, cost seems a bit excessive for Internet but otherwise I would again. Great for no frills business trips

Just Right
Regular visitor to Birmingham for shopping and nightlife and always stay on the Hagley Road. Easy to get to both shops and nightlfe from here. On arrival had to check in at the Edgbaston Palace right next door which was fine. Informed our two rooms had been upgraded. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. A little bit worn in areas but so are most other hotels. Upgraded to rooms with a separate living area - very nice thank you very much. Definately return on our next visit.
it is good quality hotel despite the price is cheaper ...

enjoyable stay
good value for price paid, good location - parking available at no extra cost. Also breakfast and evening meals were good value and content. Nice location just outside city centre with lots of local transport .
Teppichboden hatte undefinierbare, alte Flecken.
Positiv: Es gab Kleiderbügel. Und Handtücher waren da und sauber.
Staff were friendly and helpful, beds were comfortable and we had a nice view onto the garden but everything was broken, it wasn't totally clean and not very functional. Based on the price it was acceptable but I wouldn't stay again.
Great value for money, but a bit awkward to have to book in and take breakfast in the adjoining hotel.

Visiting Birmingham
The hotel is convenient for visiting the city and is close to restaurants. The room was comfortable and the breakfast, although it was served in the adjoining hotel, was good with plenty of choice. unfortunately I have marked the hotel down slightly as there were some stains on the carpet and chair arms .
Overall I would rate it average. The only problem was the restaurant was in the other hotel i.e. at Edgbaston Palace Hotel and it was a real problem to go out of the hotel during snow for dinner.
Was kept awake on the Wednesday night due to building work that went on until after midnight. I contacted the reception who said they would 'check it out' but in fact did nothing. When reporting the matter the next morning the reception staff could not be bothered about it and offered no apology. Room very stuffy, frosted up window, no view and bathroom fittings kept falling off the wall. Would not recommend this estabvlishment at all.
