"An absolute gem of a find. We booked for my birthday at the end of last year, loved it so much, went back this last weekend for our anniversary. The quiet location, the lovely food, the friendly staff, all make for a really gorgeous overnight treat. Whilst last time we stayed in the four poster bed room, we opted for the balcony room this time. It was a little tired and in need of some TLC but none the less, it was a lovely stay. "

"Quite simply one of the best places we've stayed at. We chose this place for its location being within easy reach of a number of places we wanted to visit in Somerset - Cheddar Gorge, Shepton Mallet prison, and of course Bristol itself. The rooms are clean and modern, very comfortable and quiet. Plenty of attached parking, and the pub itself is cosy and welcoming. We had dinner there for one of the 3 nights we stayed, the food was excellent - I really enjoyed the Mexican-style burger, all the usual pub favourites are of course available. The breakfast was sumptuous, unlike other places where its normally a set option, we were given the choice from a separate breakfast menu - I enjoyed the 'full Temple', my partner enjoyed a spinach & cheese omelette. And most of all, the owners Adam & Lee were really friendly and wanted to ensure we were looked after, as were the bar staff and the lady serving breakfast in the morning. When we visit Somerset again we will definitely stay again - thanks very much!"

"First impression was worn out star carpet but then walked on excellent carpet in corridors. Bedroom spacious and well equipped but chair with plain wooden seat not very comfotable. Bathroom very good but the 'stylish' basin taps handles are nearly round, making them difficult for older/weaker hands. No lift."

"A fab quiet spot with everything you need to enjoy a chilled break away. We found the accommodation perfect for our needs, which was a break not far from home with the pooch and baby. The facilities were great, I really liked the large, well heated pool, that's rare to find, especially at this price point. The small dog area, play park, games room, kids play room and cinema were all well done and had plenty to keep families busy. The local area is great for dog walks, lots of foot paths to choose from and much industrial history to find hidden around the area.All in all, really great, the only cons were the pillows, we both struggled with them but we are snobs for nice pillows so perhaps not a reasonable complaint.Will certainly go back and consider using this place in years to come for low stress holidays in the UK."

"What an incredible property! The location was perfect for a short stay not far from our home in Bristol, and all our guests were blown away by the building. Perfect for a cosy January weekend with all our friends, and dog friendly as a bonus. The host was also excellent at responding to my initial queries and providing arrival instructions. Would happily stay here again. Thank you!"

"We used the house for a belated Xmas family gathering. There were 11 of us. The house was very clean and very big. It had games, a pool table a hot tub and a barbecue. That entertained us so much we almost couldn't be bothered to go out sight seeing. In summer you would be able to sit out in the garden but this was January and rather rainy.The only glitch was the first two cars to arrive couldn't find the house. We used satnavs and Google maps. The main road was very busy. Once we had worked out it was between two Chinese restaurants and had black and white posts outside it we were fine.The teenagers were delighted to have a room with a double bed all to themselves. The kitchen, two living rooms and the barbeque hut were big enough to hold our whole family comfortably."
