"I'm always surprised to see this hotel get such low ratings. The public areas are really nice. The pool and spa area very good. And the rooks about as decent as you'd imagine on a property of this style and age without major refurbishment. Even the breakfast is decent. I can only imagine that people's expectations of. Hilton hotel called teg Majestic are really high, especially if you've paid over £300 for a night whilst a conference is on at the centre next door. Pay a third of that off peak and it's really good value for money. "

"Executive lodge = executive shed. Cheapest mattress money can buy. Generally worn out. Very clever photography has been used to show the lodge. The Gym is tiny with some old worn out equipment and a few weights. Enough for a quick workout but not enough for a serious workout "

"Could not sleep because of noise from drying room, toilet flush was faulty, no night time reception to complain about noise. When i checked out at 05.00am (because of the noise) the man at reception actually laughed at my misfortune, How Rude!! I have been promised my money back and i am still waiting."

"Perfectly nice hotel, but don’t get a room next to the lift shaft - it makes a hell of a noise every time the lift goes up and down. It tears through the bedroom like nails on a blackboard. Regularly through the night, and by morning it was almost every minute or two. I was in room 112 - if you’re offered that room, ask them to move you. "

"Location is fantastic.Ample iof car parking and welcoming staff. Walking distance major attractions mainly the Convention centre and the high street which has ample of places to dine, "

"Stayed for 1 night in small double (room was still a good size). Hotel is really well located. Have stayed here a few times and always provides value and a good experience."

"There were positives and negatives to our stay. The public areas and bar area were welcoming, clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly and polite. While our room was clean and comfortable it was very much in need of a refurb. The bathroom was clean and functional but very tatty in places, especially the window area. Toiletries were provided, but as only product was a combined hand wash, body wash and shampoo they couldn’t be described as luxurious. Our main disappointment was when we were woken before 8am as workman were working on the unoccupied rooms along our corridor. This included removing the furniture into the corridor and taking up the carpets. We were not informed at check-in that the work was planned. The hotel is in a quiet area of Harrogate just 5 minutes walk into the town centre. Ample onsite parking although there is a £12/night charge. "
