Very tastefully furnished rooms. Comfy beds, adequate showers and all we needed for an overnight stay. Just a pity that the rooms lacked lighting - a change of lightbulbs would make all the difference. Enjoyed a great evening meal in the pub.

Ok. The room was slightly disappointing for the money, peeling paint and cobwebs. Room not cleaned or coffee topped up during my stay. The rooms are in an outbuilding in the pub garden so it can be quite noisy. You have to park at the back of the pub and walk all the way around, there are no lights in this area so finding the correct room in the dark with hands full of luggage was difficult. The room was quite dingy due to large vegetation in the garden. To get a tiny bit of light, you have to have the blind open which means anyone in the pub garden can see in. No hot water on one day. Pros: friendly staff, great food in the pub.

Disappointed
The cost per night for room only felt that it offered poor value for money. A cooked breakfast wasn't available only a continental breakfast (in a box) which was extra per person. The Babbling Brook is a well frequented local pub about a half mile from the atomic power station at Hinkley Point and about 25 minutes from the M5. We didn't eat there although the food seemed well received by other guests. The room was disappointing as we were greeted by a couple of bugs crawling across the floor. The bed was too soft and the electric shower lacked pressure. In hindsight, for a country pub the prices seemed on the high side. I wish we had stayed at one of the major chains where the service would have been more professional and we could have had a room and full breakfast for the same cost or less, and, been a closer to the M5.

Perfect stopover.
We arrived just before England kick off against Wales and were desperate to find somewhere we could watch the game. the landlady was so helpful and made some phone calls before directing us to a nearby pub. Our room was spotless and pleasant and the bed was comfy. We booked a table for dinner and were impressed with the choices available on the menu. Both our meals were excellent and plentiful. We were both impressed with standard of service and accommodation and would rate it as excellent value for money. We will definitely be returning again, as it was the perfect stopover for us travelling from the midlands down to west Cornwall.

Poor service. Poor value.
Even though your booking specifically said "free breakfast", no breakfast was provided. Service was extremely limited, being available only at certain times. Not friendly. Rather gruff.
