Ok. The room was slightly disappointing for the money, peeling paint and cobwebs. Room not cleaned or coffee topped up during my stay. The rooms are in an outbuilding in the pub garden so it can be quite noisy. You have to park at the back of the pub and walk all the way around, there are no lights in this area so finding the correct room in the dark with hands full of luggage was difficult. The room was quite dingy due to large vegetation in the garden. To get a tiny bit of light, you have to have the blind open which means anyone in the pub garden can see in. No hot water on one day.
Pros: friendly staff, great food in the pub.
lovely place, get what you pay for, don't expect it to be perfect, however accommodation average, but the food was exceptional!

Disappointed
The cost per night for room only felt that it offered poor value for money.
A cooked breakfast wasn't available only a continental breakfast (in a box) which was extra per person.
The Babbling Brook is a well frequented local pub about a half mile from the atomic power station at Hinkley Point and about 25 minutes from the M5.
We didn't eat there although the food seemed well received by other guests.
The room was disappointing as we were greeted by a couple of bugs crawling across the floor. The bed was too soft and the electric shower lacked pressure.
In hindsight, for a country pub the prices seemed on the high side. I wish we had stayed at one of the major chains where the service would have been more professional and we could have had a room and full breakfast for the same cost or less, and, been a closer to the M5.
Perfect little place to eat and stay the night for work. Great food and really pleasant staff. Very quiet so the perfect place for a sound nights sleep.
