Second stay at hotel Amsterdam. Some redecoration done since last stay making hotel seem fresher. Location is everything and hotel perfect Brighton located.bar welcoming and a fun place to be. If back in brighton i would again stay in Hotel Amsterdam.

Staff were friendly but the Check in was like a faulty towers sketch, room was a bit bland but ok, in room kettle scaled up, cups not cleaned properly. Shower was good with nice smelling toiletries. The bar on the hotel is closed Very good proximity to the beach and sealife etc, After spending the previous night at a neighboring hotel, this didnt hit the same standard for the money paid.

Lovely night out

Excellent location for walking along beach.Hotel staff very friendly, not the place to stay if you want a quiet relaxing day, but brilliant atmosphere in bar/restaurant if you want a night out. The hotel breakfast is very tasty and worth the price.

The Amsterdam Hotel

Very quick and convenient check in, allowed us to check in early and gave us a key card, even before the room was ready so we didn’t have to come back during the day. Accommodating and very friendly staff, room was clean, tidy and had a lovely balcony looking over the sea. Good stay overall.

Staff were very friendly however the room was a little disappointing a bit tired and rather plain, bed was comfortable however our room suffered from noise from the bar downstairs and from the room above where other guests could clearly be heard pacing around due to poor sound insulation.

The hotel is situated perfectly, close to the lanes. Staff were very friendly. The bed was so comfortable! Very clean and tidy. It is noisy at night, as you are above a very lively bar, but it didn’t bother us too much.

Looks grand on the picture but this is the entrance to the nightclub bar attached to hotel. Entry is via broad street to the right of the picture. Room needed a lick of paint. No toilet paper and had to run shower and hot tap for 15 mins to get any tepid water

Road and bar noise affects a lot of rooms

Comfortable bed , lovely sea view Right above bar so was very noisy ( avoided choosing the rooms which mentioned the noise when booking ) Windows didn’t shut properly so a lot of road noise as well Ok for a one night stay , or if you can sleep through easily !

Great location, polite staff

Great location just opposite the pier. We had a sea view room which was great and the walk in shower was quite big. Downstairs was a drag act bar which we loved on a saturday night. Noise was fine and expected as ear plugs provided, we really didn't mind, if we wanted a quiet hotel we would have gone further up the coast! It is Brighton people! (Those who have left negative feedback on here due to noise need to go on a weekday then, or the countryside! 😁). We loved it and eould come back. Oh and polite staff at the checkin desk too which is always nice.

Know what you’re getting into

Room was not soundproof at all. We could hear everything from the bar below and there must have been a party going on in the room above us, because there were loud banging noises well into 4 in the morning. Terrible sleep. The location of the hotel itself was good, and that was about it.

Sleepless in Brighton

Nice room with lovely views of the seafront. Fantastic location. Bed was a little bit too soft and springy but no massive complaints. Good shower room and toilet. Got really noisy at night, particularly on Friday night with the adjacent club, which stayed open very late with an outside terrace. If you want peace and quiet, this is not the hotel for you. Definitely need the earplugs, which came with the room. Overall though, really happy just don’t expect a good night’s sleep.

Would have been fine if proper enclosed shower and parking is guaranteed after paying £8 and spent 1 hr attempting to find parking. Ended up paying £30 pounds as guaranteed parking in the garage. Asked for return on paid coupon they refused to refund . Have 2 wait for the manager in the morning

Room we were given (room12) was right above a bar with loud music playing until 01:30 . There is a nightclub next door which is open until 5am but we didn’t hear anything from the club but think the rooms closer May well have . The room was clean and tidy and if we were younger we would have been in the pub so would have been an issue It would be a good idea to inform guests on arrival and the ones that would be kept awake to be moved to rooms further away as there isn’t anything on website informing you of the noise
