This hotel is disgusting. £260 for a room no bigger than a match box, with no windows or natural light, and has dirty and stained sheets. The television in our room did not work. We wanted a cup of tea but the kettle was so gross we decided to walk to Costa. The bathroom seemingly hadn't seen descaler since it was installed but could have seen past that if it wasn't for the fact that the bathroom itself hadn't been cleaned properly with shaving foam and dirt on the bath panel. One small towel provided for two guests. The bed itself would have been comfy except for a spring on the left hand side, a massive dirty mark on one side of sheets and blood marks on the other pillow. The bed frame was also damaged. All in all a total rip off and an incredibly disappointing part of our weekend away.

1/5 Terrible

I have stayed in some shockers (including Soviet Romania in the 1980s), but this place really is the pits. Probably used to be one of Brighton's top hotels , but Britannia have cynically taken it on clearly with no intention of re-furbishing it or spending any money on it at all in order simply to screw money out of an endless stream of first time customers who will never return. Unbelievably run down and in serious need of major repairs. The windows and bathrooms are filthy, the furniture is broken, and there is not even a housekeeping service! The breakfast buffet is a complete joke - they don't seem to have heard of mueseli. The fruit is all canned and the cooked breakfast looked absolutely disgusting. There is no free internet either - what kind of a hotel makes you pay for internet access?!! Even paid it's the slowest wi-fi connection in the observable universe! About 1 byte per month! The location might seem to be good until you actually try to sleep and you experience the din from the thousands of drunken revellers staggering about from 11pm to at least 3am. Like trying to sleep in the middle of a football stadium! I don't know how they have the nerve to operate this place. And it's not even cheap! A standard twin (without sea view) is £190!! Let me be clear that this is NOT a criticism of the staff - they were all friendly, polite and helpful. I feel sorry for them having to work in such a dump as this, because they must have to deal with a LOT of complaints.

Good lounge and evening entertainment. My room had absolutely no view - the window looked out to a wall about two feet away. This was very disappointing especially for the considerable price that I paid. I was unable obtain a change of room. Wouldn't stay there again if there was a risk of having a room like that.

It was dirty! Dirty towels lying in the corridors together with empty beer and wine bottles and used glasses. No air condition in the room. The bathroom vent was full of dust the enamel in the bath was damaged, there was black mould on the ceiling and tiles, the door of the bathroom seemed to have been kicked in and the seating was damaged. I took pictures which I will post so others are aware what they are walking into. And all this for 3 nights £ 465.00. I am disgusted.
