Other activities: Welcome to the Costa del Golf! This is a golfer's paradise and only minutes from the superb courses with a short drive from the numerous other courses of the coast. The Sierra de las Nieves national park is 30 minutes drive where you can enjoy 4x4 jeep safaris, quad-biking fishing, shooting, mountain-biking, hill-walking and equestrian sports. Horse-racing is held weekly in high-season in La Cala de Mijas, and at Sotogrande visitors are welcome to watch the polo matches being played with immense skill most afternoons at 5 pm. Further east in Fuengirola there is an excellent aqua-park, aquarium, dolphin trips and shopping facilities. The Selwo safari park in Estepona is only a short drive away and is worth a visit for all the family. Marbella is the place to go to enjoy a late night out with its fantastic bars, restaurants and clubs, or, even just for a shopping expedition to the large department stores.
Great Sightseeing Trips: Casares, Guacin and the famous Andalusian white villages are a short drive inland. In the winter you can even enjoy a day's ski-ing on the Sierra Nevada near Granada, a three hour drive away.
Closer at hand, the excellent Sal beach restaurant (open from Easter-September) is a 10-minute walk away, the other side of the headland beyond the Moorish tower. The stylish La Perla beach cafe is even closer, and is open for most of the year. Puerto Banus is the place to people-watch at the marina, with plenty of designer boutiques, bars and restaurants. The old town of Malaga is worth a visit with its stylish shopping and Pablo Picasso museum.. Go to see the Barbary Apes or try some duty-free shopping in Gibraltar one day, or take a day trip to Tangiers in Morocco. Don't forget to visit Tarifa too for the spectacular sand-dunes, massive breakers and surfboarding.
